I'm currently debating cloth diapers. I only have cloth diapers on my baby registry. I just want to make sure I'm making the right decision. I feel empowered after watching this video. I wasn't sure how many I would need but after seeing your 30 I think that's more then enough. I don't have social media such as Facebook but I'm wanting one now just for baby stuff. I didn't do these things with my 2 sons but I have learned that with each one I became more eco friendly and tried to be more cost efficient. Im having my first daughter and I know our parts are sometimes more sensitive so I didn't want to risk putting her in disposable diapers. I'm excited to learn and afraid to fail.
Likewise!! You have beautiful modifications :) I've been looking for a good DIY cloth diaper tutorial, I love your videos! I'm definitely going to use yours :)
I use cloth menstrual pads for the same reasons you stated you use cloth diapers, but mainly because there are carcinogens in disposable pads, tampons, and baby diapers. It's been a really great journey for me and there are so many positives and so little negatives. If you're cloth diapering your little one, I'd consider looking into cloth pads or reusable menstrual cups for yourself. ;)
We Are The Strange I would definitely give it a try. There's nothing to loose and all to gain. There are a few fb groups of woman that all use reusables and it's great for info.
amandav86 The problem with that kind of soap, is that it's the wrong kind. Soaps that are derived from animal and vegetable fat leaves soap skum, which then builds up in the fibers of cloth, and in the motor of the washer. Mainstream laundry detergent is made not to leave buildup.
Thanks a bunch, I've joined the group that you recommended and so far it's been great, they answer all questions and are so helpful. I'm thinking about purchasing AIOs since my little one is almost 12 months.
Where do you put the diaper if your out somewhere and you change the baby?:) like if you put it in the baby bag will it stink or something or what do you do with them?:)
one thing i didn't like was that since my son was chunky using cloth diapers he had to always use a size up in clothes and never jeans or cargo type pants so he didn't get to wear a lot of his clothes. He also peed a lot and even with double padding they leaked so i couldn't use them during the winter.
What brand do you prefer and where do you get them? I am due in November and I'm trying to figure this cloth diaper thing out. Thank you!! Great videos!!
Thanks for your video! Quick Q: How do I find this Cloth Diaper Compendium group that you mentioned? Is it a Facebook group? Thanks so much! I am expecting and have decided to go cloth-diaper at this stage and wanted to educate myself before by bubba comes in September!
I'm pissed that, I have to start back buying disposables, when my 2year starts pre school,😒 I use, dish detergent and a good smelling laundry conditioner, is that good?
Using the new camera? I really like this lighting!have u ever used disposable or did u just go straight for cloth.I use cloth if I run out of disposable. Happy new year!!!
Yes, It's the new camera!! :) Thank you! We used disposables when Arrah was a new born, we didn't have enough cloth diapers to use it exclusively, so we alternated until we had enough cloth diapers :)
Thanks I've recently become interested in cloth diapers. I got curious about them when I saw a youtuber named itsjudytime use them in her vlogs (itsjudyslife) on her baby.
I joined that group myself as well and I will say they were helpful with detergent questions and troubleshooting. With their advice our rash issues stopped, I didn't bleach though like they seem to preach. I did end up having to leave though due to the drama. Last I was a part of the group there was a lot of bullying and belittling going on so I choice not to be a part of it. I personally wasn't involved with anything I was just sick of seeing it all over my newsfeed :P You either love it or ya hate it!
How do I know what ammonia smells like? I'm going to start cloth diapering as soon as my diapers come in the mail. But I'm worried about the ammonia. And I don't know anything about ammonia.
Cheryl P I'm super late, so sorry! But I had some technical difficulties and had to re film the tutorial. It's uploading now though! It will be live in a little over an hour! :)
My daughter has spina bifida so she will probably go through a lot more diapers than the "normal" baby. What would you recommend that wouldn't break the bank? Is it better to get a few covers with a lot of inserts or all in ones?
My daughter is having problems with disposables and I've switched with so many different brands and I want to switch to Cloth diapers. I have NO IDEA which kind, brand, or anything. So what kind of advice can you give me.. I'm 1 income family diapering 2 little ones so buying a good cheap cloth diaper would be best.. I've been on eBay numerous times trying to bid on lots and have no luck in my price range.. So if you know of any sites that sell good cheap diapers please let me know.
I've actually gotten about 30ish cloth diapers for dirt cheap from someone local. She even gave me a bunch of the waterproof underware for my 2 yr old and about 60 liners. I think they are the cheap china ones. They are just solid, no tags or anything. they are working great for my 10 month old, but my 2 yr old I think pees too much, he leaks every time and I use bambo 2 layer liner I think its called. =) they are all solids, but now that I have a good stash I can start buying girly prints for my daughter. =D
how many would you recommend to start with also what do you think the best websites are have you ever shopped at storeofbaby.com? thanks so much for your videos I love them and your family is so cute:)
LOVE LOVE LOVE your channel ! I've been watching your videos for over an hour now lol ! I have a question regarding amonia smell in diapers and inserts, how do you get rid of it? thanks
+christina burbank There is no such thing as detergent build up. Not if you're using a real detergent that contains surfactant. Ammonia smell comes from improper washing and using the wrong detergent aka DIY detergents that don't contain surfactants.
Im all for being eco friendly and i know it makes some people feel good about themselves. Just dont think you are "better" than people who use disposables. Chances are you drive you pollutant car to the store and pay with a plastic card at the register.
I never said I was better than people who use disposables, I also didn't say that everyone needs to use cloth diapers. This is just something we chose for ourselves. I've been asked numerous times why we chose it and how I feel it benefits us, so I explained here.
I have no children yet, but now I know I must use cloth diapers.
Money!!!
New vlog about cloth diapers! Why we chose to use them and how I stumbled upon an awesome group that helped me so much! :)
OMGOMGOMGOMG Arrah is soooooooo adorable!! It's crazy that it's been 11 months already, time really flies!!
yes! we also love cloth diapers.. it's earth-friendly, baby-friendly and pocket-friendly.. it also looks so adorable..
You're adorable, your family is adorable and those cloth diapers are so freaking cute! ❤️ I love all your videos.

LaQuinta Osborne haha my story right there
I too want to cloth with my third which too is my first girl lol
Nothing says you have to cloth diaper full time either. Even just to cut down on the number of disposables makes a difference:)
I love seeing another modified momma!
Likewise!! You have beautiful modifications :) I've been looking for a good DIY cloth diaper tutorial, I love your videos! I'm definitely going to use yours :)
Awesome! We already finished filming the rest of the series. I'm just waiting on the husband to finish editing them.

About how many cloth diapers do you go through a day from newborn to now? about an estimate if you can say?
You are strange! Your baby is simply adorable
Fluff Love & CD science is a good Facebook group to join also! :)
Can you please write the cloth diaper group down below? Thank you, so much. I could hardly hear the name.
I agree with you on the laundry detergent recipe you mentioned, but most of the recipes I've seen have had some kind of soap.
amandav86 The problem with that kind of soap, is that it's the wrong kind. Soaps that are derived from animal and vegetable fat leaves soap skum, which then builds up in the fibers of cloth, and in the motor of the washer. Mainstream laundry detergent is made not to leave buildup.
Thanks for your reply. :) That makes sense.
After watchin this I will totally use cloth!! Way to go
How much are the cloth diapers that you purchase? I've always heard that they are expensive.
The cloth diapers we bought range from $7.00-$17.00 each, you can really find awesome deals out there! And in the long run you save more money :)
Thanks a bunch, I've joined the group that you recommended and so far it's been great, they answer all questions and are so helpful. I'm thinking about purchasing AIOs since my little one is almost 12 months.

Crystal Hancock There's special totes called "wet bags" that keep the diaper from leaking all over your main bag. :)
I want to cloth diaper my baby due in July ... What kind / brand diaper do u recommend I start with ? Any thoughts ideas ?

What brand do you use?
Thanks for posting! Where did you get all your diapers from?

No dish detergent or laundry conditioners! Only clothing detergent. Real ones.

She doesn't have a Mohawk anymore. She has "emo hair" now. Lmao. You are so pretty.
Is Tide Free and Gentle okay to use? I have two containers of that I got at my baby shower
Most definitely! :)
My daughter has spina bifida so she will probably go through a lot more diapers than the "normal" baby. What would you recommend that wouldn't break the bank? Is it better to get a few covers with a lot of inserts or all in ones?
Prefolds, flats and covers are known to be the cheapest route.
What brand are these?
TCDC! :D HAHAH baby wanted to vlog too!
My turkey is 20mths, is it to late to start cloth diapering?
no!
Nice to know!
:)
