    To Nick's point: my favorite is when the art kids go away to school, can't hack it in NYC or LA and then come back and re-invent themselves as someone who "rediscovered their small town roots." They get to avoid admitting failure but you know that they'd be somewhere else if they could. "I'll just make my small town more like a cosmopolitan urban shithole, that'll do it!" This is why you see microbreweries even in the lowest 2 ring suburbs.

    • @tomsenkus
      @tomsenkus 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I've got a number of friends who went to art school or fringe lefty schools (Evergreen/Hampshire College/Smith College/New College). They had years of academic toil, only to be miserable baristas or thrift store workers. Others who went to cities like NYC or LA morphed into coke and Adderall addicts to cope with broken dreams. Even if they were working in their creative field, they could never get to the next "click." You can spot 'em a mile away.
      There's nothing to "hack" about big metro areas. Most of these types get a dose of reality if they move away from their college campuses, where you're elbowing people on the subway while Peruvian ladies in full regalia pick bottles out of the trash for deposits. When they move back to these small cities, they get to be the bigshot for a while but soon realize that that college debt is an albatross that follows them for decades... that is, unless its transmuted into familial guilt due to cosigned loans. It's a scam.
      The only ones I saw that were truly successful were the ones that sold the shovels, not dig for gold.

    the great artists of past became great by being apprentices to masters. that 1 on 1 mentoring is almost completely gone in this age. I did art courses where there's like 15 students learning from one apathetic art tutor that barely critiques or inspects the work at all. it fucking sucked. the only benefit to it was the few figure drawing classes we did where i actually felt like i learned. but it was almost completely self propelled with no real guidance at all.

      Sam talked about this a little during one of his streams (it’s probably lost to time now) he says that the masters spent 15 years learning to paint a human’s knee. And how the skin molds over it, and the shape, and how to make it dynamic. 15 years. Learning to paint one dumb thing. Sam says that artists today don’t have the patience or time to focus on mastering one tiny aspect. And therefore, the whole art suffers.

    Art isnt about "needing" anything or any workers or having "too many artists" an artist is not a profession...its just something you get to do if youre lucky enough to afford it..... Its more like a therapeutic time filler for all the unemployed ubi people in the future. Thats the star trek utopia dream.... not HAVING to work on a farm or factory... and having society just take care of you so you can explore art...its a gift...its not some sort of thing to look down on because its boring to you.... imagine someone in the 1500s told that they can spend time learning arts on a computer and not have to be nobility? I took the mensa practice test for my first iq test and got a 135 which would be enough to enter me into mensa if it wasnt the practice. It made me feel like the test was stupid rather than me feel like im smarter.

      You pay to take the real test right? Them being easy of grading the practice tests would be a good way to funnel people in.
      To get into my school you needed to pass a test that puts you at least around 120 but I've never had an iq test

      The general requirement is 98. That should be enough to tell you its fucking stupid and you should've known that by now. If you haven't turned 135 iq into a lot of money then you should know it's not really all the valuable compared to other traits and decisions.

    Thanks for the continuous update! Bitcoin is on its way to breaking records, getting closer to hitting new high prices, showing that it's gaining more value and could go even higher than we've seen before. I am super excited about how my crypto investment is going so far, making over $35,700k weekly is an amazing gain..☺
