Take apples from your hotel and stop and feed the horses as you travel the island. Incredible animals.

I have an Icelandic horse she’s SUPER PRETTY and really nice and broke

Gudmar, can you tell if a horse is Icelandic from pictures? My boy Apollo tolted. We haven't tried to do the flying pace yet.
What is the weight limit for a rider on one of these horses. Not mentioned
Hi there! Typically the weight limit for a rider is around 250 lbs but this can vary depending on the horses, stable, and length of the ride.

We are from Lexington, Kentucky, in the heart of the Bluegrass region, and coming to Iceland in Feb. 2019. So interesting to watch this video and learn about Gudmar's farm! The pictures of Icelandic horses have always reminded me of what we call miniature horses, just a bit taller. Curious as to what breed horse Gudmar worked with while in Kentucky.

Hi, I just found your channel and I love all of the energy and positivity that you put into your videos and I can't wait to learn more about Iceland! I'm currently trying to learn Icelandic as best as I can. I hope to move there when I'm older, I want to go to college as a nurse and I was wondering if I was able to learn Icelandic enough to be able to go to college there and study nursing, or should I stick with going through college here? Gonna be hard to move to Iceland if you are not from Europe or have any relation to Iceland (as in marry an Icelander for example). But due to you study being a nurse you may have the odds against you as they are in high demand. Try Icelandic Online to study the language, its free and can bring you quite high level, including payed service to have an online tutor. If you study here, language is no problem, every uni gives decent language courses, and there are a lot of international students so it is only few lessons that are in Icelandic. But you need to learn the language as older people here do not want or simply cant talk anything else than Icelandic.

The whole experience! 🤗 I wish the US could implement a program like this for our wild horses. The U S is killing them and putting many in long term holding pens. Many have gone to slaughter. Such a shame the US is so awful to horses!
Indeed. I've been in Nevada, USA, for 2 decades, and it is tragic what goes on with the wild horse herds. They are so magnificant in the wild, be in the mountains or deserts. Praying they are more protected and loved.

You're right! But horses normally have 3 gaits :)
