  • Calendula flowers are going to seed to I am harvesting the last of the flowers for medicine making. If you would like to learn how to make medicine from our garden plants, take a look at my course - Introduction to Herbal Medicine
www.danusirish... and if you would like to know more about women's health, my new course is also on the website - www.danusirish...
Have a look at the website for other courses www.danusirish... The Weed Handbooks are available in the shop, along with flower essences, greetings cards and other herbal goodies - www.danusirish...
Samhain is approaching and you might consider following the Wise Woman Way training which is a course that follows the Celtic Wheel of the Year. At each festival during this transpersonal course we connect with our Plant Allies, journey to the Irish Goddesses and use druidic and shamanic techniques for healing. This is a course that reminds us that we are connected to Mother Earth and that the Divine Feminine is within. Find out more here - www.danusirish...
Thanks to Lol for music and editing. His other music can be heard here - / @lolhardiman5247 and from his website - lolhardimanmus...

Calendula is a beautiful flower, and very medicinal. I've made a face salve for acne for a friend with Jojoba oil and beeswax. I have enjoyed it as a tea. Have a wonderful week Terri and Lol. See you next week! Blessings from Ontario Canada.

Thank you for the lovely video. I love my calendula. This was my first year growing them, and they turned out fabulous. I've made an oil with the flowers and it went directly onto my new granddaughters bottom. It cleared her little rash in no time. I also enjoy a calendula tea with cinnamon and cloves along with some orange peel. I have saved many seeds and look forward to expanding my calendula garden.
    Much love for

Beautiful, beautiful, and so healthy, too. I've come such a long way on my herb loving path since completing Terri and Lol's basic herb class. It provided me with all the 'how to' and opened so many wonderful doors of exploration as well as such a deep respect for the power of herbs in my life and those I share with. I love being in the garden in Ireland with these videos! It is truly a sacred place, and it always makes my heart happy!

Calendula is one of my favorites! I infuse the flowers in organic sunflower oil (olive oil can go rancid) for about 6 weeks, strain and refrigerate. As needed, I add it to salves, lip balms, and use it straight up on my skin right out of the shower. It really helps hydrate eczema also❣️ I just love your videos, Terry❣️ You are so knowledgeable, genuine and wise❣️🌱🌿

Very soothing. Used it even on my goats udders. It’s brilliant. Using calendula salve for everything, any cuts, bumps, rashes, I think it’s magical. High healing properties. Thank you Terri for this video on calendula. I have been growing her for several years now on my suburban property, zone 5, Ontario, Canada, and she has self seeded every year beautifully. I so love these pretty flowers. I have not found the time to harvest her for medicinal use, but will try to do so especially now, after your timely video in sharing how to do so. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of all the healing properties she has to offer! Especially loved you mentioning how just looking at the flower, brings joy, and can help with eyesight!? That resonated with me, as I have often looked into the flowers and felt such awe of their beauty…yet did so subconsciously if that makes sense? Will now do so with even more intent and appreciation after watching this video from you. Thank you again, for sharing your knowledge 😊❤️🙏

Yes, it makes sense. We just have to remember what we know deep down. After mentioning that - about eyesight - I came across a more up to date article stating that Calendula infusion makes an excellent eye wash xx

Love Calendula! It's my base oil for all my skin applications, including lip balms! I had to resort to dried material last time as my plants struggled. Hopefully, next spring, they will proliferate.

Last year I missed out on calendula, so this year I gave them their own bed and I’ve been harvesting a lot! I always use them in my salves, but yeah, last year I missed out on them.
My oil is almost ready now and indeed, I made a tincture out of them for the first time this year.
What would be your experience with teasels?

I watched your video tonight as I'm processing more calendula. 🧡This season has been my year of calendula in abundance...I've collected literally gallons of it.
***The only thing I'd add is DON'T NEGLECT THE STEMS--there's medicine in the stems as well!*** @Danu's Irish Herb Garden--your thoughts?
Personal story. This summer, while making salsa, I made the mistake of barehandely chopped up a lot (and I mean A LOT) of onions, garlic, and jalepenos. Afterwards, I processed and deseeded (again bare handed--no gloves) dozens and dozens of tomatoes. Well, the result was that I basically gave myself a very painful chemical burn from that whole concoction of veggies. It burned under my fingernails and all over my hands--for a couple of hours. Cold didn't help. Heat and the sun made my hands hurt worse.
Against my better judgement, I went out to the hot greenhouse to harvest calendula. When harvesting that flower, I don't just pick off the flower heads, I also pick about 4-6 inches of tender stems as well. Whenever I'm done picking, my hands are always super sticky with whatever compound is in the stems/flowers. Anyway, that day I picked 100+ flowers/stems, and I kid you not, within 5 or so minutes of picking, my pain had lessened by 75%. About 20 minutes later, the pain was completely gone! CALENDULA IS GOLD!

I've been taught that the medicine is in the petals but I'm always open to what people say is their experience. I had a boiling kettle fall on my foot and was severely burned. Calendula salve saved my foot, I can't even remember which foot it was!!! Definitely worth it's weight in gold xx
