it would have been funny if hooch went for him again when he started climbing back through the window and he fell back out again
I’ve HATE the end of this film, but when they reveal the one baby hooch, it always makes me smile :)
Tom Hanks is incapable of making a bad film, 80's, 90's to today. Even when he plays a "local idiot" in Forrest Gump he's brilliant. The Money Pit was a childhood favorite for 80's Hanks.
It's so true and the money pit starring him alongside shelley long was perfect casting. I ❤❤❤❤ that movie.
The Money Pit is HILARIOUS with Tom Hanks! 😅
Couldn’t ever get into The Money Pit or Joe Vs The Volcano. Saw this one in the theaters and loved it.
The Bonfire of the Vanities was a massive bomb at the box office with an all star cast
He is rarely in a bad film but the 2004 remake of the ealing comedy classic The Ladykillers was a tragic and truely awful.
My mom died early Friday morning. She took my brother and I to see this movie in the theater. We loved it, and bawled like babies when Hooch died. This one and Old Yeller were probably our favorite dog movies. Followed by Homeward Bound.
So sorry for your loss.. I wish you peace through the hardship
@@marieclaudeb.2366 God bless you. Thanks for the well wishes.
@@nickmanzo8459 im sorry for your loss aswell
1980’s Tom Hanks comedies are great, this movie, Splash, Big and The Money Pit are great!
I cried so hard when Hooch died. 😭💔
But he sacrificed himself to save Scott he saved his life.
ikr he died a hero just like anty did in honey i shrunk the kids against the scorpion
I have been binge watching your video's for the past weekend. I just found your channel. You really make watching these films again fun. Thank you.
Welcome aboard! Thanks for subbing. Make sure you check out my 2nd channel youtube.com/@awesomeshows
@secretstacket5097 welcome to the wonderful world of honest hearted James. What movie would you want to see him react to?
@@sharpgirl72 I would like him to watch the Kevin Smith movies. Clerks has to be first, and if you can find a copy, Dogma is my favorite one.
The Man With One Red Shoe is an old Hanks funfest.
The whole meaning of the ending that it may be tragic that hooch died, But at the same time it changed Turner’s life forever to not take relationships for granted, especially for animals and people that bring so much joy and value into your life and bring you out of your comfort zone. That dog changed Turner’s life forever even after death, and made him appreciate the loved ones that are around him more, To me, that was the meaning of the ending.
I love this movie, also the movie K9, which has a pretty similar plot as this one, which came out the same year 1989.
I suggested this after you watched Big. It’s probably his best funny movie except of course it’s very sad at the end when he saves Turners’ life.
I had malamutes for over 20 years. The damage they did growing up made Hooch look like an amateur. I loved them so much. 150 pounds +. Nothing beats a big dog.
I love this movie! And very few if any have reacted to this… it’s hilarious and endearing, glad to be watching along!
Always loved this movie and Hooch being a great dog. Great reaction. Along rhese lines the Money Pit is also great
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
I've been a fan of Tom Hanks for the first time I saw him on Happy Days. Then the TV show bussom buddies... He is one of those phenomenal actors. If you like this film I would recommend K9. Jim Belushi is a hilarious comedic actor
That’s so ironic because originally Henry Winkler was directing the film but was fired due to his poor work and the fact that he and Tom Hanks did not get along.
Your reaction to Hooch dying was the same as mine. I'm a grown man who cried like a baby.
mine was a lot worse i was in absolute pieces as i was only a kid at the time and my brother cried aswell
I adore this movie, I’ve watched it, countless times. Hooch, (Beasley, R.I.P) was awesome. He and Tom Hanks together made the perfect duo. I’m looking forward to watching it with you 😊
You forgot Craig T Nelson...You saw him playing the dad in Poltergeist. This was a great watch along, I love to see you laughing it's so infectious.
OMG you're right, man.. I missed him.
Hooch is a Dogue de Bordeaux - they are stunning dogs despite their "slight slobbering problem" 🙂. When I fist saw this movie and saw Scott put the leash under the desk-leg I was just waiting for the desk to go flying - my dog was a slightly less heavy kid of mastiff - I knew there was no chance that would work if the dog gave a real pull - no chance - not even remotely - it was like waiting for a inevitable car-crash to happen. What I did not expect was him to drag the desk down the stair! 😀
Another of young Tom Hanks comedies that will make you gasp for air from laughter (and this time without the crying at the end) is The Money Pit.
I saw this as a kid.its always been one of my favorite tom Hank's flicks
This laughter for you was over and above your normal SO HILARIOUS!!✌🏻☀️
and despite been shot that still didnt keep him down from saving scott what a tough dog hooch is
I have a feeling you are gonna love this one, I don't know why but I always associate this film with Tango and Cash, aside from the obvious two name title I think they came out around the same time. Keep reacting James, you are AWEAOME!
Same!! Both are such fun movies!
hearing them bark in the middle of the night is 1 thing but when they start howling it creeps u out
Great reaction James!! I bawled every single time I watched this movie and got to the end. Hooch was such a good boy. A couple of times I had to pause the video cuz I was losing my breath laughing at you laughing at the movie. Thank you for all the joy you bring to this world James 👍🏻👍🏻
So glad you enjoyed it, yes sad then happy tears
"Have you eaten a dog biscuit!?" - lol - Have you eaten 80's health food?
This has to be one of my favorite Tom Hanks films. I agree it is hilarious. I wish I could like the video a thousand times…watching u react made it that much funnier!!! Oh and loved the “words of wisdom” segment. 😁
My mom and I love this movie so much we decided to donate and volunteer for the Austin boxer foster/rescue society. 😂
My dad used to get this out and we used to sit down and watch it when I was 8 and 9 years old. We both loved it.
Seeing how much you enjoyed this, K9, with Jim Belushi, is a must watch.
3:36 He was also the dad in the tv sitcom show Family Matters. Remember with Urkel "did I do that"
Fun Fact
five different dogs
Arnie, Hammer, Obi, Cyd, and Mya as Hooch, the role is played by five different dogs of the same breed.
This was one of my favorite movies when I was younger. Even with the sad ending, I always swore I would get a dog like Hooch. I ended up with a Shih Tzu, not exactly Hooch. Lol But no one ever watches this movie on TH-cam! I’m so happy someone has! ❤
Popcorn in Bed did this one a few month ago, though they're the only other I can remember.
Looks like you swallowed a tennis shoe & u got the laces hangin out! Prob my favorite line.
it looked like laces aswell
Haven’t seen Turner & Hooch in forever but I was in love with this movie as a little kid 😊
great reaction thank you. I really enjoy this movie I have 3 mastiffs and 4 cats as well. We are well used to living in chaos. The ending of this movie tho he didnt even get to see his son, ya know? sheesh going to start weeping again. Good reaction.
My mom absolutely loved this one. Another one you HAVE to do is Paulie. It is about a parrot that can actually talk and it is live action. You will LOVE it
One of my favorite movies! When Tom Hanks wasn’t a lefty loony.
This is one of my favorite Tom Hanks movies. That big guy who you recognized from Die hard is Reginald Veljohnson. For some reason he's been typecast as a cop. That's the only thing I have ever seen him play. The dog is a Dogues de Bordeaux. That's a Dog. Big honkin' dog. Also the 97 dollars he paid for his dog supplies now equates to 250 dollars today.
250 dollars.? wow. That's why when James didn't even blink thinking its a great deal. haha. I wonder how long that was supposed to last him though.
This is one of my most favourite movies ever.
❤❤❤ This reaction was Absolute Perfection!
Great reaction! I was one of the many who suggested this, glad you got the additional request. I honestly laughed and cried with you here! I guess that means it's time to subscribe
Thanks for the idea!
This is one of my favorite dog movies of all time! So glad you loved this movie. My favorite though has to be Where the Red Fern Grows. Both the book and the movie are fantastic. I will say that even though it is my favorite dog movie, I can never finish watching it again. The ending always has me in tears.
Great reaction! Dogs absolutely can watch television. Some aren't going to be interested at all, while others will be absolutely enthralled. It also can greatly depend on what's on, and dogs see what's on TV very differently than we do.
I absolutely LOVE THIS MOVIE!! 😂😂😅😅This one and K-9 Cop with Jim Belushi. Hilarious movies!!! Thanks for this!!
K-9000 was also a good one in this vein.
Dogs couldn't "see" TV back then, but they can now!
and they can recognise pictures!!
Another buddy cop dog movie from same year as Turner and Hooch is K-9 with Jim Belushi. I enjoy that movie just as much and recommend as well.
Dog biscuits taste like melba toast. Tasted one on a dare😂.
You need to see “Hachi: A Dogs Tale”. It is a true story and stars Richard Gere from Pretty Woman
Ooohhhh, I don’t know if he’ll make it through that one😭😭😭
Amazing movie
If you liked this movie, you should check out K9 with Jim Belushi. Similar movie, just as entertaining IMO. This is a great reaction, I really like this movie but knowing the end makes it hard for me to re-watch it. Thanks for sharing your reaction James!
he's got everything under control yeah looks like it aswell 😂
Love love love !!!! Great reaction!!!!
You laughed just as hard in this like you did Happy Gilmour 😂😂😂 awesome
Such a fun movie.
3:35 He was also the dad on the TV show Family Matters Reginald VelJohnson.
So Boyett's son the little blonde boy who wants to see Tom's badge (right before you meet Hooch for the first time) you have seen before, his name is Elden Henson and he played Pollux one of the rebel cameramen for Katniss in Hunger Games: Mockingjay parts 1 &2. You will see him again in the future, he is in an extremely famous trilogy of kids movies, as well as a very popular Marvel tv series.
Classic
1st serious Tom Hanks movie I saw
I enjoyed this movie having see it when it was new. Tom Hanks is always worth watching whatever the part. I think my favorite is BIG (1988), another personal favorite is Dragnet (1987).
That is a Dogue de Bordeaux (French Mastiff).
Yep, Dragnet...! Toghter with Dan Aykroyd, Harry Morgan, Christopher Plummer and Dabney Coleman...
Another movie similar to this is K-9 (1989). It's also really good.
My dog totally watches TV! First one ever in my life that does. She loves Animal Planet, especially dog shows. But she tries to attack wild leopards and lions. Lola weighs 12 lbs. And i ate one of her dog biscuits once. It wasnt bad! Like an apple fig Newton.
You SHOULD have 100K subscribers! Your laugh is infectious :)
Wow, thank you!
this was the first movie that made me cry
29:37 "He's a dog. He can't see tv" Yes they can
Actually during this time period they couldn't see TV's. Only now with digital TV can Dogs watch television. The old analog tv's didn't have the quality so it wasn't really possible for dogs to see them.
You should at least have 100K Viewers with these funny Reactions 👍👊
I would love that!
Howard, the head detective guy, is Craig T Nelson. I first knew him from his tv show Coach, then as the voice from movie/cartoon The Incredibles - and a movie I've come to love, Poltergeist. I hope you add both movies to your list! And PLEASE watch The Money Pit, it was the first movie I saw of Tom (after loving his tv series Bosom Buddies) and it remains one of my favorites of his.
Grew up with & love this film ❤
Check out K-9 with Jim Belushi. Has a similar plot to Turner and Hooch, but a lot better IMO.
I have a distant relative who worked on this film. A second or third cousin. I don't know. I'm not good with numbers. But anyway, I'm glad my family brought you some laughs. 😃
Hey James..Oregon is here..hope you enjoyed the show..
26:44 Why is he holding that fish, if he hates them? 🤣
Hootch is a French breed dog (dogue de Bordeaux, yeah "Bordeaux" like the wine), witch is a weirdly much more known breed Out of France than in France.
A really kind family big Boy but efficient guard dog breed, SPOILER ALERT: the saliva issue is a real thing though 😂!
Thanks again for your genuine entertaining reaction Channel 👏✌️👍
(Sorry for my English, i am French native language people)
I know I’ve probably said this before many times but I don’t care. James, you’re a frigging legend. You responded to this film exactly how I would’ve hoped. When you laughed I laughed. You’re shock at Hooch Smashing the door, the football going through the window. Shutting the door on turning and you just like “NOO!” That was my favourite part! Turner and hooch is one of the movies that I can remember Being in my life for the longest time. It’s a classic. The dog is incredible too. It’s a sad twist that hooch dies, but he basically ends up with a carbon copy Hooch regen so it leaves you smiling through the tears. My idea of a perfect movie. And this was a perfect reaction. Much love James. I hope you had a great Christmas and happy new year! Can’t wait to see what you do this year! I’m gonna try my best to join your patreon because mine has been growing so I can afford it now. I need to see your full videos. ESPECIALLY this one! And you can bet I’ll be making some suggestions!
❤️👏🏻✌🏻
Such a great movie, reminds me of when I had a boxer dog
They could’ve just retired Hooch with a Purple Heart 💟 and let it kick back with the new puppy
Hard to believe, but at the time, Tom Hanks was more well known as a comedic actor. Besides Big, he was in silly comedies like Bachelor Party before this one, and, I kid you not! He was also set to play Mario on the live action Super Mario Bros. film, but Nintendo got cold feet after a movie he was in didn’t quite live up to expectations.
Always loved this movie❤
I was so excited when I saw this reaction. I've loved this film since I was a kid, it beats nearly all the other dog movies.
Don't let your kids make you worry about the subscribers: you're doing quite well. Also, if you build it, they will come 😜
speaking of 1% hooch was still able to crawl across the floor at 1% and finish the job
I love this movie! I haven't seen it in years and it still made me laugh. Your reaction was so great! You laughed the way I did the the first time I saw it. 😆
15:38 my cousins pit did that to his 1989 VW golf 😂
The other actor opposite tom hanks is Reginald veljohnson he was on the tv show perfect strangers then the show family matters where he played carl winslow from 89 to 98
James... Another Great Hilarious film by Hank is Money Pit!! His Earlier Years... SUPER FUNNY!!
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
@@AwesomeUSMovies ... you have your Snow Blower ready for tomorrow..!!!
@@AwesomeUSMoviesTom Hanks has a laughing scene in this movie that is absolutely iconic. Please rank the money pit high on your list!
Holy crap, I just realized something - Elden Henson (Lenny from The Butterfly Effect) is the kid at the beginning who thinks Turner's badge is fake. Maybe you could add his credit!
Your reaction is hilarious. lol lol lol
I love this movie!!
Did you never watch movies when they were on TV? I lived in the middle
of nowhere, only had three channels, and routinely got straight As in honors classes, reading the classics, and won the casual read-a-thons in school all the time, too. They showed movies on the 3 networks all the time. You had to have seen some.
I love this movie.
i have eaten dog biscuits before and they are not that bad. Taste like a bland bran muffin. I feel like everyone who has had a dog has either thought about trying one, or had tried one before. This is one of my favorite movies. I hate that they don't make movies like they did in the 80s and 90s.
Ya i used to eat milk bones in front of my dog to get him to know it wasn't medication which i had to hide in hot dogs & other deli meats. Kinda like mel gibson did in lethal weapon 3 except he did it to stop his addiction to smoking.
the ending in this is sad but the ending on when the wind blows is even worse
the 1 thing i hate aswell is when people say relax its just a movie that annoys me cause theyre saying it as if movies with sad endings has never made them cry but we all know in reality those people that have said that r denying that they have
I am in Mary Kay and I got checks to use. It's good promo
Now you have to watch The Man With One Red Shoe.
Hi, James. SciFi fantasy is so hard to do on screen as compared to my imagination. Xanth series would be my favorite read. I love the puns!!
I'll check it out, thanks
38:01 Imagine how much it would cost to feed him!
You missed s great show called family matters with the other policeman. If you can find a way to watch it - you and your family will love it. That's why he does so many dad commercials
3:10 I do it at least once a week but I have an electric one. It I didn't every person I talk to would see them.
James You laugh but my favorite teacher Mr. Mitchell had a nose stash & there was no separation from nose hair & his moustache LOL
yuck
Also do the Money Pit with him and Shelly Long
You would love K-9
