A massive city that doesn't get the attention it deserves always being in the shadow of its smaller neighbours like Manchester, liverpool and Cardiff.
Birmingham is a modern city as most of the city was bombed in ww2 it's a great time to start a new by knocking down the mistakes of the 60s and building a new.

Fact is that Birmingham IS the Largest City in the UK. City of London has population of under 3,000. City Of Westminster is larger, and is NOT in the City of London. The energy of Birmingham is unique. HS 2 is for cockneys to have a day out in a decent City,

Check facts before making ass or of yourself?
City of London has population of less than 6,000 - is smaller than City of Westminster ...
City of Birmingham is UKs largest city.
Where do you think City of Westminster is? In London? u r not that daft are you?
You are obviously confused with the Metropolitan area of "greater London" which is NOT a City.
Sadly there are many dopes out there, but maybe you could do with educating yourself BEFORE posting daft lies .
So if City of Birmingham is a "small" city, what is City of London? a tiny hamlet? DOPE

I spent most of my childhood, youth and young adulthood living near to Birmingham and back then, it was an absolute shithole. I hated going there and everything about the 'Brummie mentality'. But one of the main reasons why I loathed the place was because of the utterly abhorrent attitude of the city's leaders who more resembled villains from a Dickensian novel. They eschewed forward-thinking, kow-towed to 'vested interests' and considered entertainment and facilities for the people as some kind of moral scourge. As a result and when faced with growing discontent - particularly amongst Birmingham's youth - they handed these entities over to criminals to run. [thereby abiding with the Cadbury/Quaker edict that only scum would want to enjoy themselves - so give it to other scum to provide it!]
For decades, Birmingham had the strictest and most draconian licensing laws in the UK, and following the pub bombings of 1974 - completely banned 'basement' bars, restaurants and cafes etc. It's reputation as a run-down, decrepit and tasteless dump inhabited by a near-moronic population was deservedly earned. With limited arts, music, fashion and culture on offer and a thoroughly disorganised and disconnected strategy of how a city should look and present itself to people. Thankfully, I turned my back on it much preferring cities such as Nottingham, Manchester, Bath, Cheltenham and of course London instead.
How refreshing it is therefore to see that Birmingham finally has leaders who are clearly educated and far more progressive in their vision of how a modern city should look and feel. Better late than never I guess - but judging from this short video, Birmingham is at last getting its act together.

God you think a lot about your dozy morals mate and talk a load of crap about Birmingham, were you around to witness the 1974 pub bombs by the IRA, the only pub out of the two that was underground or in a basement was the Tavern in the Town which is now a McDonald's I believe and still underground, the other pub the Mulbribush was a normal pub under the Rotunda which is still there being used as a retail out let now, I was 17 at the time and remember the News Bulletins in the evening reporting it, it was cowardly IRA that put the bombs there with out warning against the orders of the IRA leaders which caused a load of deaths and life threatening injuries, it nearly killed people on a Bus passing at the time and caused a lot of resentment between the Birmingham Irish Community and normal Brummies which was very friendly to each other at the time and one friendly Irish Bus Driver who used to drive the Center Bus around Birmingham City Center who was a very friendly person to commit suicide and to add insult to injury morons started singing " Hear we go around the Mulbribush" but because Brummies are a friendly resilient lot we rallied around the Irish Community to keep the friendly bond between us that the IRA could not break.
