This story has touched me profoundly having read the lives of many saints; but to witness the act of humility, of such love and holiness in how he relates to others. It is odd to me that people in this day and age still believe that people in this day and age are any less likely to believe nonsense than people in the past.
To this world, it's nonsense, but to those who believe in Christ, it all makes complete sense. This is why God uses the foolish things of this world to open peoples' hearts. One cannot grasp this with the mind. How else can God work the miracles He did through Saint Nektarios?
Regardless whether you believe or not, St. Nektarios helped people that often lived on the margins of society and was misunderstood and persecuted for it. That is not nonsense.
