I think it's really about puting the sound in the front and that might be related to setting a short attack and low sustain to create plucks and move away from 'pad' or slow evolvoing sounds.

I was able to record and edit MIDI using my keyboard and just by entering the midi notes. I was following this video: th-cam.com/video/L-Ejsylks-A/w-d-xo.html You add Abyss to the channel rack, create a pattern and write MIDI notes. I'm not an expert in FL Studio so not sure what is your particular challenge

does it only take external keyboard input? I couldnt get any keyboards in FL studio to work with it
