@@AliexFolgueira how is water getting in the hull if they upgraded the front hatch with (2) rubber gaskets? I honestly would like to know because I’ve been looking at this kayak.
This was not the first video i've seen of your Aliex. I was originally very interested in the Bonafide boat but what kept me from getting one is that I know I wanted a peddle drive boat as I am an avid kayak fisherman. So once this boat came out and I saw that you picked one up...i was like...OK this guy is gonna do just about everything and more to a boat. So I just wanted to say thanks. This is def top 3 boats that I am considering for my next kayak as I am seriously due for one...I've been paddling a Jackson Cuda 12 for almost 6 years. It's been an awesome boat but not exactly stable in comparison to this boat and I want to be able to stand and have that peddle option. Thanks again my friend!
The cuda is not stable at all, it is a paddling boat, the outback with Mirage can go easily 5.7 plus mph so you wont lose speed... what kind of fishing do you normally do?
Normally I'm on the lower Potomac: Largemouth, Northern Snakehead, Perch, Catfish, Migrating Striper. However, I live within an hour from Chesapeake Bay where I can get into: Striper, Bluefish, Spanish Mack, Cobia, Flounder, Redfish and Sharks. I also do alot of skinny water fishing and for that I'd probably end up keeping my Cuda 12. I know it's not a stable kayak but after 6 years...I am pretty comfortable on it but that doesn't mean I don't take a dip every now and then LOL!
Hobie Outback 2019, Bonafide SS127 & Wilderness Systems ATAK 120...Reasons you don't see other peddle kayaks is because I do not like the idea of a prop for my kayak and think that Hobie has that perfected. Question for you Aliex, when you've got your mirage drive in but are not paddling...so the fins stay straight down or what needs to happen for them to be up against the hull of the yak? I heard that on the 2019 Outback, where the fins go up against the hull it's slighted indented in so there is less drag on them and better clearance. This true?
Lol...I just might get it now....over the PA....maybe when you have the drive down it kinda helps when your seated....can you do some big water testing some day.
Awesome work Aliex! Seeing how much you had to put into flipping it gives great confidence. I don’t fish in the Ocean so I think I am all good. Mine will be here no later than next Wednesday.

I guess it's like Yeti and RTIC. RTIC is just as good and it's half the cost of Yeti. However, people will still pay double just to say they have one. That's how I feel about this brand of kayak.
The 2019 Hobie Outback is best served in calm water Conditions. This is not an offshore kayak whatsoever. The 2019 Hobie Outback will get waterlogged if you go offshore in less than ideal conditions. I highly discourage anyone from taking these boats offshore.
@@AliexFolgueira Do you even understand what offshore fishing means? It's at least 9 miles out... This is why the original poster and I are saying this boat is not built for offshore swells.

СПАСИБО!SENKIU AD VIDIO
I'm going to be honest I don't see what's so great about the Hobie. To me they are way over priced. Yes I have fished out of a couple and I just don't see the hype and paying upwards of $3k for them. I guess it's like Yeti and RTIC. RTIC is just as good and it's half the cost of Yeti. However, people will still pay double just to say they have one. That's how I feel about this brand of kayak.
They have an unique drive that it is really hard to duplicate, so that gives them freedom to maybe charge a little more
The 2019 Hobie Outback is best served in calm water Conditions. This is not an offshore kayak whatsoever. The 2019 Hobie Outback will get waterlogged if you go offshore in less than ideal conditions. I highly discourage anyone from taking these boats offshore.
I disagree, this yak have been on rough conditions did well . During very bad weather I would not go out
@@AliexFolgueira Take it 10 plus miles offshore on video then. The swells will get you waterlogged quickly. Prove us wrong.
No need for 10 miles but I'll take it 3 miles off soon
@@AliexFolgueira Do you even understand what offshore fishing means? It's at least 9 miles out... This is why the original poster and I are saying this boat is not built for offshore swells.
Dude here in Florida our target zone is 1 mile off and waves and current and wind do get nasty.
What's most stable boat still the Titan?
Titan is huge, it gotta be
@@AliexFolgueira thanks plan on 10.5 for my son 12 for me titan
The 12 is awesome, has a lot of stuff from the 13.5 , lots of people love the 10 too. Native makes high quality stuff
@@AliexFolgueira thanks man
Doesn't handle well in big swells it fills fast and very unstable in deep water with waves keep a bilge pump with you
It was full of water and I still fished with it for hours and didn't even notice it
You NEED to LEASH you junk in the boat Paddle and DRIVE!
Drive is leached ,paddle ? It floats
OPS on the spelling
MDLR said , he owes it to his subscribers to tell the truth. Dunno what it means..
We all used that, "oh I'm honest I tell it like it is" the truth is that gets old, we get things wrong all the time, I learned to pause think about it and then react
Cool i always watch your videos, you explain things in a very detailed manner, im learning a lot.. thanks
Thank you !
I promise you, If you hit a wave right it will flip. I flipped mine once, and it was quite a miserable experience. Luckily I got my rods, but lost some tackle and pliers.
Ohh yeah Check this one out th-cam.com/video/zAETyRsgFXg/w-d-xo.html
You can buy a perfectly running 15-17 ft boat for the price of hobies. Too expensive
But not as fun no need to register, can throw it on the bed of the truck, can launch anywhere and so on
@@AliexFolgueira just as fun or more, 100 bucks registration for the year, (boat and trailer) same price (boat and trailer). I love yaks too. Just 4000 for a kayak is beyond rediculous.....
Cool video tho.
Thanks man
@Southern Kayak Angler TV just giving my opinion. If u can afford it so easily. Buy 2 and send one to me
Aliex I'm sitting here scratching my head because I can't understand why kayak companies don't wake up and design A captain boat collar style system on there kayaks..... Google...... Captain boat caller... and let me know if you agree or not🤔 thanks Alex love your TH-cam videos😉
Thanks for the support brother, can you send me a link? I google it but nothing came out
@@AliexFolgueira Google before and after the boat collar system TH-cam
They have several TH-cam videos on this, also video on installation I looked at them years ago for my ocean boat. just didn't pull the trigger but thought how (((amazing))) that would be if they molded a Groove in the mold of a new kayak and you were able to slide them in or slide them out...... So if you can picture it Alex🤔 a Groove from bow to Stern on both sides of the kayak that's molded right into the yak. Also I believe it would be hard to mount that on an existing kayak you'll see what I mean after you watch the video I hope it make sense to you
God bless you buddy...
We could always go on Shark Tank and become trillionaires😎
Too expensive!!
Maybe but it is worth the$$$
Ya for $4000 I can buy a real metal fishing boat with a trolling motor plus a trailer!
Great video Enough with hobie kayak I know they pay u lots of$$ now test reviews the cheap budget mako10 lots peoples r waiting for it
Mako is coming, but first I have to get help to offload the trucks with money hobie is sending 😎 "(jk)
