Sadly in a country where cricket has overshadowed every other sport, her achievements are now forgotten. Most Indians won't even know that she was the first woman from India to win an Olympic medal. Till date it remains the only weightlifting medal for India at the Olympics.
Edit: After 21 years, Mirabai Chanu makes us proud by winning 2nd overall and 1st Silver medal in Weightlifting for India at the Olympics.
