Hi! The view looks amazing! :o Just got allocated to McIntosh to start at St A's in September and I'm not gonna lie, it wasn't at the top of my list, but this video makes me feel a lot better about it! I was wondering how good the food was in your opinion? I know it used to be known as the halls with the best food a few years ago but the chef moved to Sallies?

It really is something!! Congrats, I loved my time there. About the food -- I actually thought it was not bad. Some people were not big fans but considering the time you save on grocery trips and cooking I think it's worth it. I would say it depends on the day, most of the time there will be something tasty to choose, and if not then Tesco is literally round the corner :)

May I ask where you stored things during Christmas break?

@@cheriehuang5094 Hi, sure! Each year was a bit different. One time I was lucky and they let people leave a few suitcases in the attic of Canmore - the catholic chaplaincy. Another year one of the ladies who worked in the kitchen at McIntosh and lived outside of St Andrews offered to store my stuff at her house. And I think one time they actually let us store some suitcases in McIntosh itself - but I don’t think that’s usually the case, we were just friends with the warden haha So basically you have to be creative, ask around, and hopefully somebody will agree to take in a box or two over the summer. Sorry it’s not a straightforward answer!

@@cheriehuang5094 Ah sorry, my answer was about the summer - I misread your question! Christmas break we didn’t have to pack up, we were allowed to leave rooms as they were. But that was 6 years ago haha so not sure if it’s still the case

Thank you! Is your room on the top floor and no. starting with A? We are so worried about stucking in the basement!

@@cheriehuang5094 Mine began with the letter “C” and was on the first floor. Unfortunately it’s a bit of a lottery what room you get. Basement rooms might not have the best views but they’re often very spacious!

Got D10, 2 doors down from the Common room. Not the worst. Is it bad?

    What’s the nightlife like

There's always something going on! But, like in any very small town, it can get a bit repetitive after a while -- only a couple of places to go to.

Do you know anything about Agnes Blackadder? I’m thinking of choosing that as an accommodation but I’m yet to be given pros and cons

Hi! Yes, my best friend lived there for one year. It's one of the biggest halls I think and very close to the gym -- if you're into that! I would check where most of you're classes/lectures will be as it can be a bit of a walk and it's down a longish hill so may take a while to get to places in time. Unless you do science-related stuff which is actually very close by. Otherwise I think it'a perfectly nice hall and you have the option to be catered or not :) Hope that helps!

Thanks so much, I’ll take this into account :)
