Pity the 5th Australian Infantry Division gets no credit for conducting the best containment campaign of the war on New Britain

Yes. Victory at Sea was a briliant documentary series, but it is very US-centric.

The music, whilst well written, has ruined this whole series. It is too persistent and loud. In trying to follow every nuance and adjective of the commentary, lacks continuity. I bought the whole set of DVD years ago, and could not watch much of it. A great pity, as the composer is one of the best, misused, unfortunately.

I, and millions of others, think that Richard Rogers' brilliant compositions capture the atmosphere and mood of the time. I know some music of the 1950s did overpower film, but not Victory at Sea.

david croft , I for one have been annoyed by the anachronistic scenes of the Victory At Sea Series. It is obvious that the producers and editors are not very knowledgeable about the time of the events and to edit the appropriate scenes for the appropriate time period.
