  • We are not the only riders in Estonia, walking tour around Tallinn the Estonian capital.

After in part escaping the Baltic rain we ride into the capital of Estonia. Where by the heavily protested Russian embassy we meet other Dutch riders. At the hotel there's also a very exotic fully loaded up Indonesian motorcycle. We explore the city and decide that soon we'll be turning around on our motorcycle journey.

Fascinating city. And quite outspoken against the neighbour's war. Thanks for taking us there.

Gunter, Nurnberg is my favorite city in Germany. I was stationed at Furth from 1990-1993 and Ansbach from 2003-2005. I dearly miss the Altstadt Brewery beneath the Kaiserberg. Prost

@@hoslerd21 Hi Daryl, I agree. The Altstadt brewery is still alive and kicking. Their whiskies have been voted twice as Germany's best. Sometimes I pass the transformed barracks in Fürth, and once or twice a year near Ansbach. Only a few weeks until Christkindlmarkt starts. I just enjoyed a Lebkuchen with a cuppa coffee ;-) Cheers, Günter

Hi Pedro and Mariska, sorry to read (but understandable) that your journey had to end here. I guess it's been a fantastic adventurous event for the both of you and for us too. Seeing the different landscapes, villages and towns, hearing the languages in these countries, adds a lot in our views and what we know about these states and the peoples habits and interests.
Have a nice trip back home and thanks you both very much!

Pedro, you speak excellent English, most likely learned from the internet. I am a Latvian citizen born in the US. Most young Latvians speak excellent English because every child over two years of age has a cell phone. Older Latvians speak Russian but speak broken English at best.

I was impressed by the English spoken in Latvia, you notice the split between the older and younger generations.

Very familiar. My last episode i ended on the ferry from Helsinki to Tallinn and my next episode will start there, just have to find some time to edit it.
Kaliningrad and St. Petersburg also where on my list but also not possible. OK, it was possible but not without serious planning which is not my way and i also didn't wanted to spend my money there even though many people there are as much as a victim as the Ukrainians but then victim of propaganda.
Finland had me by surprise, a lot of offroad and forests but just like Norway very expensive so a tent and ways to cook are very welcome to keep cost low.

The Baltics had a warm spell until now. The next few weeks will be cold and rainy. A US citizen can apparently obtain a visa to enter Russia by obtaining an invitation from a Russian travel agency for about $38. I returned to the USA from Latvia a month ago and it is now definitely too cold and dark for me.

    • @ride4life_motorlifestyle
      @ride4life_motorlifestyle ปีที่แล้ว

@@peterrisbergs7156 I could get a visa but i had to arrange it far in advance and had to had the hotel booked at that point too because they want to know where you stay.
But i travel with a route i may or may not follow and no schedule so booking is not possible as i don't know when i get there.
Before Covid you could buy an E-visa you could activate within 8 days before crossing the border and at the border you had to know where you're staying.
That would have worked but a normal tourist visa not.

    12:27 Denmark's National flag Dannebrog:
A well-known myth about the origin of the flag states that the flag fell from the sky during Valdemar Sejr's battle at Lyndanisse in 1219 against the Estonians. The earliest versions of the legend, however, place this event in a battle at Fellin in 1208. These are two accounts from the beginning of the 16th century from the theologian and chronicler Christiern Pedersen and the monk Peder Olsen, respectively, which are probably based on the same, now unknown , source.
    you're welcome 😉

All these years of you stalwartly riding and torturing those machines throughout the world and they overlooked the best representative they could have had! WTF Honda?? If I were you, I would feel significantly slighted!

Just for your information, going into old town with a bike or any type of vehicle is illegal, you passed multiple signs stating you can't be there, but and I'm not sure if yoi were there in the morning hours, you can actually excuse yourself to the police by saying you're loading something as from 6:00-10:00 it's loading time for shops, etc. You're lucky you didn't cross any police, and if your wondering about why the embassy police officers didn't stop you, they can't come off their post.😂
