Hi, I'm watching from Taiwan. Recently, I've started watching your videos before bedtime to relax, especially when you're having conversations with Indi. It feels particularly heartwarming.
Ecoflow is going to turn everyone in to car campers, hahah! Good to see them sponsoring you. That should help you make more content for us to enjoy. Congrats!
Ha ha, yes, it does certainly make it more attractive when you can bring the mod cons. I won't be carrying it into the bush though (lol). There are definitely times when you want to unplug. I think it is my husband who will get most use out of it actually, to power the self steering on his small sail boat. He is very happy.
Really enjoyed your comfy car camping trip. So nice to have the electric blanket to keep you warm. Indi seemed to enjoy it too. Always love seeing him. And the little bird was adorable.
Its good to mix it up every now and again. This time of year when the weather isnt great its nice to.see a bit of comfort and camping luxuries. Indi looked to have loved it.
Love love love it. Why not a car camp. I would love to see one every now and then. Maybe one every season. Great set up but also love the wild camps. My favourite. Thanks for sharing. 😃😃
Thank you. I think I'll keep a car camp up my sleeve for every now and then when I need to treat myself to a little bit of luxury. He he. I agree on the wild camping. That will always be my favourite too. I am planning the next one right now.
Awesome, as always. You looked like you were so comfortable and warm. Yes, I would love to see more car camping from you. I thought it was cute how you took the coffee maker and said oh my husband is gonna wake up in the morning and the coffee maker won't be there bahahaha That was really adorable. He won't have coffee at least not by the coffee maker lol. Just a thought they do have the smaller coffee makers for like $10. They will make 2 to 4 cups depending on which one you get, they work just fine, then you can leave that one in your camping stuff and not have to worry about it. KEEP ADVENTURING GOD BLESS YOU
Haha, yes I am smiling at that even now. We both love our morning coffee so when the beans run out (or in this case your camping wife steals the machine) there is always that moment of let down... nooooo That is a good idea with a smaller portable machine to keep in my car camping kit. Thanks for your support and encouragement. Cathy
Very good video work. You are obviously a connoisseur of hot chocolate. Nothing better on a cold night by the fire than a hot cup with a splash of (praline liqueur). 💚💙
Oooh, now you are talking. I have some Frangelico Hazelnut liqueur in the cupboard. I know what I will be having on my next trip. Thanks for the great idea.
aye! a wonderful car camp....inspiring me to do one .....love your wild camping thou as always a good crackling fire ....yes more of both please..hugs to Indy and you X
Love the car camping, the way I think is if anything goes wrong with you or Indy God forbid you can get help quickly, but anywho Great set up great video, Indy well and truly recovered from her op 👍 stay safe and Stay Happy 😊❤❤❤
Thanks Venetta. That is sweet of you to mention Indi's op. Yes, all healed up and issue resolved, but she does have a nasty scar to show for it. Poor girl.
You are so welcome John, and thank you!! I will buy Indi and I some treats for the next journey. I'm planning for it now and it looks like it will be a challenging one so the treats will warm the body and soul.
Really enjoyed watching you car camp it was funny seeing that little bird round you and you’d just said I’m sure it’s been in my car , carry on having abit of luxury. Kay from cornwall uk
Thanks Kay. I think it was a little Robin. They seem to like me (lol) there was a very persistent one jumping on my camera on a previous adventure. They are super cute.
Yes it sure is. It is all about the coziness of rain on the roof or tent. I simply love it, and I love the moodiness and the idea that I am warm and dry and everything around me is so wet and wild.

Cathy and Indi, this is my first time watching your channel. I'm glad I stumbled across it. Great video. I think Tony with AB camping may have recommended your channel.
Hi Brett. Welcome. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment and say 'hi'. Yes that was really nice of Tony to support us smaller channels with a shout out, it makes such a difference. I hope you will continue to enjoy the content. I am heading out again soon and looking forward to sharing the next adventure in the wild.
Luxury camping! Looks like the sort of gig I would enjoy too. A fantastic location for you and Indi to chill out and enjoy. (and Indi looked very appreciative of her warm bed) Thanks Cathy
I had planned with my wife to go to Japan for 3 weeks for the next vacation next year but when we watch your videos and those of another youtuber, it will finally be New Zealand
What a stunning landscape. Such a great video, thank you Cathy! Everything about that made me feel cozy and peaceful. 🙏🏻 I’ve been rec’ing your channel to all my camping/hiking group friends. You were a wonderful discovery!
That is so kind of you. I really appreciate the encouragement and support. It means a lot that you would recommend me to friends. The highest compliment. Cheers
Just found yr channel. Hello from a fellow kiwi. I love car camping. I have my tiny jazz set up. I take my dog to. (She's tiny) I need to get a tarp set up. That looks great.
Thanks for sharing amazing looking area. I like the way Indi looks for attention my dog does the exact same thing made me chuckle. Great video as always. Have a great day!
Thanks for watching! Yes she loves her attention for sure. Always wants to be connected to me, that is one of the reasons I trust her so much in the bush, she never ever wanders.
What a cracking camp that was. As I watched the video I am thinking what next will appear in the way of mod cons. Well you didn't miss much, oh only the kitchen sink. Loved every minute of the camp, well done. Steve.
Thanks, it can be hard to find a great view on a car camp as you don't often get that uninterupted view or the mountains so I was very happy to find this spot. It was not my intended spot on that day, so it is good that it worked out.
Beautiful site, the Ruru (Morepork) night sound very soothing. Awhile back the family and I were camping Melbourne VIC in the bush we were all woken up by a sound I can only describe as the "Devil " himself snorting fire out his nostrils in the darkness. We all stayed up that night in front of our fire with torches and me clutching onto my axe. I asked a neighbour the next morning if he heard the screaming sound coming out of the bush, he casually replied "yeeeaah maaate eeit was a Kwaaala love cry" My kids will only camp at Caravan parks 😂😂
That is so funny. I can relate to your story as I was clutching my armoury of weapons (lol) when I heard the sound of a pained child screaming in the bush. Turned out it was a possum. For something so cuddling looking they sound like a tortured soul.
It was a nice treat I have to say. Good to know you are enjoying the River Pro. I can see it will come in handy for our family for a few things. My husband is eyeing it up for all sorts of things.
🤩 wow! Thank you so much. That is so generous of you. Please know that I really appreciate it and will put it towards something cool for the next trip 😊 Cathy
Oh. We have the same Car and I love to sleep in it. 🤗 I just wondered what did happen to your steering wheel, when I realised that yours is on the right side 😅.
Oh yes of course, that shot of Indi sleeping with no steering wheel present would definitely look bizzare for left hand steering drivers of the world. I've owned my trusty Subaru for years and years and this is the first time I have tried camping in it. Wish I'd done it sooner.
Hi, first time for your great video do use wind deflectors so you can crank your windows. Open a bit to deal with the condensation issues that sleeping ?
Hi, thanks for watching. I don't have those wind deflectors. I know what you mean though. I had to make sure the tarp was over the back windows at night time so I could open them a crack for ventilation and ensure no rain got in. It worked well.
It almost seems like Zempire has a monopoly with the South Island New Zealand camping channels. You should get a Zempire air tent like AB Camping and Abel & Victoria I love my Toyota Highlander for car camping. It's long enough for me to sleep in, unlike my old VW Tiguan which was too small and cramped for car camping
Funny, yes, our family has been camping for years in our big Zempire tent. It is bomb proof, love it, and I have an old table of theirs, and a single tent too. They make good stuff. They don't sponsor me or anything, but I'm happy to say their products I have tried are good. The air tents look good too. So convenient. Our big Zempire needs 3 people to put up, it's a mission.
It’s Delonghi brand and the model is called Cappucino. I’m very fussy and I love the coffee this makes. It takes fresh beans rather than pods. Thanks for watching 🙂
I do my grocery shopping at New World in Whangarei, just 2 hrs north of Auckland. We don't have half the yummy things you bring on your trips... not your fault. It's a gripe on my part lol.
Bummer! New World seems to be very area specific in the items it stocks. I know the one in my city that I need to travel to for the finer things (lol).
I think Tony and I would have a million camping and video editing things to talk about and the dogs would have a blast. One of these days our hiking paths are bound to cross 👍
Hi, What is the name of the area you are camping. I am originally from inland southland and alway like to know the name of the places you camp. Like your show very much.
Hi Jenny. Mostly I camp in Canterbury, but do venture up to Marlborough, the west coast or Otago. Being a female camping alone I don't often mention where I am camping if it has road access (unless I am unlikely to go there again). I feel safer that way. It might sound silly, but it's my thing. This one is a lovely spot I have found that I will probably camp at again ;) PS. Thanks, I am glad you are enjoying the channel.
This one is 3mx2.8m. I found it to be the perfect size to just cover the back windows (so I could have one open a little for ventilation without letting rain in) and to have enough cover out the back.
Great set up… love your videos- so inspirational! Could I ask what tarp you use in this particular video! Thank you 😊 I wish I enjoyed camping in the rain as much as you because it’s pretty much standard weather in the UK 😂
Oh yes you definitely need to work on loving rain camping if you are from the UK, he he. I don't have a lot of gear so typically use the same thing for everything. This is my DD Hammock Superlight 3mx2.9m that I take wild camping. It is a good versatile option. My only beef with it is the occasional drip on my head as water tends to slowly track underneath it from the tie down points. Not a big deal to me though, so I shrug and move on.
It's okay in wind and rain if all the guy lines are taut, but a larger tarp (wider) would be better I think as it would be nice to have more cover when the rain is side on, and then I could bring the sides of the tarp down more without giving up the room underneath it. It is a good compromise though, for someone like me who has light gear for hiking and only car camps occasionally.
Hey! Im new to the channel and just watched this video and really enjoyed it alot! Im in South Carolina US and i watch Tony on AB Camping and im a huge fan and watch all of his content! One day i hope to travel to NZ. Which island are you on ? And do you know Tony @AB Camping ?
Hi there. Thanks for tuning in, and leaving a comment. Much appreciated. Hopefully you get to travel here one day. It is a lovely place, but I realise I am biased. You know the idea of 6 degrees of separation? Well in New Zealand we usually say it's 2 degrees because it always seems someone you know is related to or works with or is friends with someone who someone else knows. And, yes that applies to Tony. I'm from the South Island like him and have connections to the place where he lives. Our paths are bound to cross one of these days.
@@adventureot oh wow!! That’s so very cool! Thankyou so much for responding! Hopefully in the future you will meet Tony! How cool that would be! As i get the time i will go and watch all of you videos because I really enjoyed watching you and Lindi ! She’s beautiful! Im a cat dad but had dogs in my past. Love them all! Absolutely love NZ and i get to see it through yours and Tonys adventures! Thankyou so much from across the world ♥️
Oh boy, well that sounds like an adventure if ever I heard one. You need some nature posters or plants in your garage, and maybe the sound of rain or a river, and voila, you are camping in paradise and not in the garage. Good luck. What a wonderful gift you are giving your daughter and family.
lol, yip, you obviously noticed me fighting with hair in my face. It's one of my pet peeves, hence why I got that clip out and clipped it back. Thank goodness.
Now by 'right' I hope you mean 'right' and not 'correct' (lol). We visited the States a few years back and I can tell you it felt like I was an overly attentive learner driver again. Had to pay attention. Got the hang of it after awhile though.
Damn, that's no good. Definitely a yt thing. I haven't tinkered with any settings at my end. I am glad it worked for you this time! Ah, another Subaru owner, nice. I would definitely recommend trying a car camp, the Subaru is well suited to it.
For the treats 😃
oooooh, thank you so much. Happy Indi and Cathy!!
That little bird sure wasn't shy.😃
They are so cute. I typically have atleast one of these little fella's hanging around me when I camp.

Thank you. It is certainly a little different from the wintery cold rainy camps. I really enjoyed the luxury, although the hills are calling me back.
Wow, what a beautiful view. ❤
I was pleasantly surprised when I got there. I agree, the outlook was lovely.
What a excellent dog. Great to see solo campers enjoying the great outdoors

Not a big deal to me though, so I shrug and move on.
great video. love the setup. one question, what type of setup and materials are you using for the tarp setup?
Hi. Thank you. This is my DD Hammock Super light tarp 3m x2.9m, with two generic tent awning poles from our family tent.
@@adventureot nice. thank you :) how do you find the tarp setup? it works well in wind and rain? the pole length is around 2m, right?
It's okay in wind and rain if all the guy lines are taut, but a larger tarp (wider) would be better I think as it would be nice to have more cover when the rain is side on, and then I could bring the sides of the tarp down more without giving up the room underneath it. It is a good compromise though, for someone like me who has light gear for hiking and only car camps occasionally.
@@adventureot nice. planning to use this setup with a Tesla Model Y. I guess i'll go with a 3*4m tarp.
Are you in Aotearoa? ❤ go back every year to visit whanau
Yes this is beautiful Aotearoa.
@@adventureot awww be there soon
Thankyou so much from across the world ♥️
Where does your dog get water? Is there a river it creek?
Usually her preference is a natural water source but on this trip I filled a bowl for her 👍
Well I'm going to sleep in my car in the garage so my daughter and her family can live in my house so I'm learning more survival tips 😆
Oh boy, well that sounds like an adventure if ever I heard one. You need some nature posters or plants in your garage, and maybe the sound of rain or a river, and voila, you are camping in paradise and not in the garage. Good luck. What a wonderful gift you are giving your daughter and family.
I didn't see you give wster to indi.
Ok. I have approx 18hours of time to condense into 45min. There are lots of things that happen that don’t get included.
❤
Thanks
🤩
Thanks
Thank you
May help if you tie your hair up 😊
lol, yip, you obviously noticed me fighting with hair in my face. It's one of my pet peeves, hence why I got that clip out and clipped it back. Thank goodness.
I lo s indie
Thanks
Don't you run into some Americans driving on the "right" side of the road?
Now by 'right' I hope you mean 'right' and not 'correct' (lol).
We visited the States a few years back and I can tell you it felt like I was an overly attentive learner driver again. Had to pay attention. Got the hang of it after awhile though.
I would get so confused there
Hi Cathy, your last vid I tried 8 time to leave a comment but no luck. Is there a problem or is it just youT@ub just haveing a fit?!
Well seems to have worked this time. I also have a Subaru Outback, maybe I could do the same set up someday.
Damn, that's no good. Definitely a yt thing. I haven't tinkered with any settings at my end. I am glad it worked for you this time! Ah, another Subaru owner, nice. I would definitely recommend trying a car camp, the Subaru is well suited to it.
@@adventureot Thanks Cathy,
Really enjoyed your last vid 2
YT need to up their game.
