    After all the updates, I've got to admit the phone works flawlessly, no lags, no heat, no battery drain. I easily get 7 hours screen on time with 25-30% remaining at the end of the day. My fingerprint sensor has 100% succes rate after the latest update, really is a great phone.

    Had mine over 2 weeks now, upgrading from Pixel 4a 5g. - very impressive phone with much improved performance, and an absolute bargain at current prices. For Android fans looking for a very slick and solid performing phone I can highly recommend the Pixel 6A

      Nice, how’s the screen compared to the 4a 5g?

    • @shanetorr
      @shanetorr ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@rcng086 It is smaller and you can certainly notice the difference side by side. But if I don't use the 4a 5g for a few hours, then I stop noticing it at all. It's only occasionally when watching movies I might use the 4a 5g instead. But the speed difference is very noticable in day to day use. The 6A size is quite convenient for day to day use

      @@ducapelli I never really compared them, and since one was older than the other it's hard to really know even if you do. I'm always at a desk so battery life is rarely a problem. In my estimation they are pretty similar.

    What bugs me (Apple reviewers fail to mention as they may not get ones to review) is that the iPhone 14 at 6.1-inch and iPhone 14 Plus at 6.7-inch, are still using 60Hz displays. I'm liking my 6a, although battery life could be better.

The 6 had issues w/volume dropping too often, and images not as good as I would have liked. Everything about the 6A (color me surprised) works as good as my lost 6. Shoulda waited. I think people take this stuff for granted, we have came from black and white TV screens to the world in your finger tips and people are moaning about the most minor things that dont even matter its actually quite sad. Hi, I'm 2 months in and absolutely loving the pixel. Camera wise it's amazing in the day and has so many more features. I have 2 children and I snap a lot! Quality is amazing 🤩. The night mode isn't the best as it requires you to be still for a good few seconds but I very rarely take pictures in the dark.
      The only thing I find annoying I can't screen share to a TV but apparently this is fixed with a Chromecast but I'm Amazon gal so I don't want to buy one. So I keep my S10 charged for when I wanna screen share to show videos or photos etc.

    I love all your amazing cellphone reviews and the bonus are your witty jokes. Your Google 6a review really helped me on my future cell phone decision, especially the 6 weeks later video. I have been a Moto user for several years (4 Motos) but recently went to the dark side when I bought a Samsung A52 5g. Great hardware for a mid-ranger, a 3.5 mm jack, 120Hz screen and SD card slot, but I absolutly hate the software experience as well as the duplicate apps. The reason for the change was Moto's inferior software and security updates as well as the horrible night camera performance. Now with the 6a I can get stock software, upgrades for 5 years and a great camera, . I will miss the micro SD but I have purchased a USB-C dongle for my wired headphones. Keep up the great work you do, I will continue watching, cheers from Ottawa, Canada. (I guess your idea of the dark side is Apple)

    After watching your review I decided to take the plunge. Bought the Pixel 6a 3 weeks ago. Coming from a Samsung A52 5g, here are my thoughts. Battery life on the 6a in the first week was dismal, barely getting through the day. Just like you said in your review the battery has improved drastically over time. I have updated the 6a to Android 14 and the battery life has gotten ever better. The camera blows away the Samsung A52 5g especially when it comes to the shutter lag, according to your recent Samsung A54 review is still an issue with some Samsung phones. I do miss the headphone jack but bought a USB dongle, does the job. The area in my opinion that Samsung A52 5g is better than the 6a is on the screen. The main reason for my switch was the call screening app on the pixel, no more robo-calls :) As well the stock Android screen experience is just as fluid at 60Hz as the One UI (Bumfudge) is at 120Hz. The 6a does get a wee bit toasty but it keeps me warm in Canada during the winter season. Keep up the great work, and fantastic humour. Cheers!

    I had a Huawei P40 lite which I loved at first but I really started to hate it. I didn't like EMUI at all and I hated not having Google. I got my first job last year so I started saving up some money to get a decent phone and the 6a is what I went for and I've gotta say, I'm impressed. Absolutely love the camera and the overall feel of the phone, especially the haptic feedback. Had the phone delivered to me a few days ago and was still running Android 12 until early this morning. Battery life has 100% improved for me since updating it. Although I do find the charging to be a little slow, even with a fast charger. But apart from that, one of the best budget smartphones you can get in 2023

    To get full-frame video on the front facing cam, you have to turn off the image stabilization. Good for stationary vlogging. Not so much for walk n talk.
    If you use a 3rd party camera app, you can record 4K video on the front facer. Unless your lighting is perfect, it looks better at 1080p from the native app, but it is an option.

    You had me laughing there at the end with the I-barf sounds you made a few times. That was great. I have a Oneplus 8T with the 120hz screen, 12gb ram and 256gb storage, the really nice Sony 48mp sensor, etc. Great phone. Here in the states I use Spectrum for internet and if you have Spectrum Gig Internet, they have a fantastic promotion where they give you for free, 2 years of 5G unlimited phone service. I could have just got the sim card but wanted a phone and I was lucky in that they had the Google Pixel 6a for $199 or $8.33 a month. I don't need the phone but I couldn't pass that deal up. Glad that you liked the 6a. For now, I'll toss in the drawer but I can always sell it, trade it in or use it. I owned a Google Pixel 2 XL for 4 years of use and it was fantastic. Not sure I can go back to 60hz screen refresh now however. Thanks for the video, the insight and especially the laughs. You have yourself a new subscriber.

    I *ing love this phone! Tbh my experience was clouded by all the noise and criticism but lately I've come to realise that it's become a fun habit to crap on on Pixels especially by non-users. As soon as the noise dies out and you have actually been using the phone, you realise that you don't need anything else. If the Pixel A line-ups are this good, I surely don't need the flagships lol.
    The A-13 update is as fluid and perfect as it can get (no phone is bug-free, certainly not iPhones). No Android brand can beat the Pixel in software smoothness/fluidity especially not at this price range, definitely not Samsung.
    I particularly love the design and size, One moment, it feels like it's big, the next it's really small.
    If you value smoothness, performance, reliability, updates, solid battery-life, oh and camera, if that's your thing, without having to break the bank, you should definitely "consider" this phone.
    My only criticism would be the damn FPS, ffs get rid of that on-screen crap and give us the side-mounted, how difficult can that be! Well, tbh, for the past week it's been good but frankly I'll rather do without it at all.

    • @Riz_

    • @raizo6895
      @raizo6895 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Riz_ tbh, it's more of the fact that I have to position at a certain angle for it to unlock, like I have to actually pay attention to unlocking it and this makes it a task for me unlike my other phone with side mounted which I can unlock the whole day without retrials or hand gymnastics lol. I feel like the issues with fps have already been solved by dedicated sensors outside the phone but brands keep complicating things by trying too hard. All that effort and more need to be channelled into other areas for instance we need more power efficient processors, battery life should not be an issue anymore in 2022. This is one of the areas Apple is getting it right.

And when I'm traveling I want to be able to use my phone without worrying about running out (worst offender is Google Maps + high screen brightness).
      Also, I intend to keep the phone for at least three, hopefully the full five supported years. Batteries worsen over time, so starting out as high as possible just makes sense. If it has like seven hours SOT time when brand new, it'll be trash in a few years.

    I've had this 2 weeks. The fingerprint sensor is shameful, really poor. There are Bluetooth issues when connecting to my car handsfree but AA seems to work fine. No Bluetooth issues with headphones though. I've yet to experience it getting toasty, no battery issues on Android 13, screen is fine. The zoom, on the camera is mediocre beyond 2x but its point and shoot capability is awesome. For me the pro's outweigh the con's enough that given the great offers on the phone right now (I paid £214 after trade in and promotion offers) and as it was a small form factor phone I don't think I'd have gotten anything close for that price.
