This is incredible! I hear Jim effortlessly channelling James Brown all over this brilliant album; especially in the (changeling). This was always a great album. It soars now like a beautiful expression of creativity that captures the full intensity of Los Angeles in a marriage of love between men and the muse city. La is alive in this album, and she's a beautiful awe-inspiring goddess. Thankyou God for the doors, i love them, so...
I have the UHQR, actually my first vinyl copy of the album and I’m very pleased. I’m one of the 33 guys, after 8 - 10 hours of a stressful work day I like playing and album and relaxing, I feel like with a 45 I’m racing to my seat once I drop the stylus and after every song just hoping there is one more song before I have to get up, flip and then swap to the next disc. I’m in the minority I assume and own several of the 45 UHQR but that’s just my side like I said coming from someone that would rather have 33.
I just watched your video on FOMO so glad you did this review. this is what I'm talking about I already have the 45 RPM. I bought it the week it was released sounds amazing I didn't understand how the UHQR could sound better and even if it did it wouldn't be by much. I knew I wouldn't be missing out. The only thing I'll be missing out on is 150 bucks lol. I have a classic records Jimi Hendrix box set the UHQR didn't sound any better than that but I did buy the kind of blue because I never had an audiophile press of that recording so it's obviously better than what I had.
I'm wonderingvhow much gear, room, and personal taste impact which copy is preferred. I've seen several videos that say it's a close call largely depending on those factors. That's why there should always be room for another perspective and why definitive reviews are rare birds. Thanks for the vid.
Was wondering why this was chosen for an UHQR when there is already the 45 out there which pretty much everybody agrees on is about as good as it gets. Certainly there are other titles out there which could benefit much more from a UHQR release. Is it just about the 33 vs 45? I always thought that the aim of a UHQR release would be to be the definitive version. Maybe it is on the 33s, I wouldn't know. It does diminish my impression on the status of UHQR a little bit though.
The 33RPM sounds good but the 45RPM for 60 dollars sounds better in my opinion This new release will satisfy people who don’t want to get up every few minutes with the 45s If you have the 45 version you don’t need this
I'm shocked at just how much it sounds as though the 45 blows the UHQR away....🤔 I'm shocked Chad would give it his blessing if it it night and day between the two
Hey man, your channel just popped up, this was an interesting one… Am not really an audiophile and don’t really have the “Hi Fi” system but the way you described it seems that even on my system I would notice the difference here. Was wondering, do you have an original 1971 copy of this album? You got yourself a new friend ✌🏼🎶
Chad said the 45 did not beat the LA 33 UHQR. This is for the people who hate 45'LPs. For them, I say, stop buying them so I can buy more of them. Also, 45- 7" records are also beautiful things too. If you can't take the "flipping" part of records, I don't know what to say. We all could stand more up/down trips.
Steve Wilson's remix of Aqualung destroys the UHQR version, imho. Do you have the remix? Aqualung UHQR is basically the same way you described the Door's LA Woman UHQR. Flat and boring.
This album was beautifully done and there's no denying it!! I've tested it out on 21st century remake albums!! This album is absolutely beautiful😊 I don't know what your problem is but you are way off.😅
Yeah, this was a very odd choice for a release. I get it, money. But yeah, I have heard comparison samples and came to the same conclusions basically. So pass. Now if Chad wanted to do something pretty cool he could do Strange Days in mono with the best mastering. That would be pretty fantastic. I hope he isn’t planning on doing more of The Doors like this.
bad and also the box is not the same. they start saving dollars on packaging just like mofi did with slimmer boxes . horrible. we paying top dollars here, stop messing with it AS

Appreciate your honesty. Never seen someone go against the grain on any Acoustic Sound product. Quite refreshing and fantastic review.
The 45 is an analogue productions product, same as the uhqr
I have both..I haven't listened to the UHQR yet..kind of just bought out of FOMO...I'd like to see what Mike from the in groove has to say about it
Saved me $65. Thanks.

I got the UHQR and have the 45 rpm. You nailed this comparison. The 45 wins hands down!

@@teddyrasputin3850 good point !
God bless you and very awesome you enjoy your vinyl collection.
I enjoyed the video and the information is extremely helpful 👍

Chad needs to do a UHQR 45 of it !

Real fans want all of them for different moods, period.
Even the DVD audio from the Perception box set is important to me.

I believe this a totally different mix.
In general, I really do not like turning the 45s so much and will listen to 33s for the most part.
Maybe the dumbest release from AP to date simply because the $60 pressing exists.

So it sounds like you didn’t need to spend 125 dollars on the UHQR If you would have watched Chad’s video he said that the 45 is better
@@davepounds8924 no one Has to spend .. I was curious 👀 so I did ..
@@ericpathi That’s fair! I have the 45 RPM and after I watched Chads video I didn’t buy it
