Thanks Albert, I watch your videos, I learn a lot about art, and I don't have enough money to pay for a course. So with that I'm learning a lot. I really appreciate it. Thank you very much.
I loved the Gottlieb pictograph video. I would be even more excited to see you illustrate a later phase of Gottlieb's work, especially with respect to his Blast and Rolling series. I understand his "glowing orbs" in the top part of most of these in his series, but the technique he uses in building the complexity of the "explosions" and "colliding waves" in the bottom half remain a mystery to me. Could you put together a video on this part of Gottlieb's work? He is my favorite artist from the New York School (along with Kline and Rothko). Thank you.
Thanks Joel. Interesting request or suggestion, the orbs. Funny thing is that they don't seem too complex to make it looks like he just uses a different technique each time. I have to look into it. No guarantees, but I'll put him on my list. Albert
Hi Susan, thanks for mentioning Josef Frank, I really like to discover new artists, wonderful art. I'm putting him on my list to look into. Thanks, Albert
I know this is an older video and don't know if you are still taking requests :)), but I would wanted to know what would be your take on Basquiat. I still didn't go through all of your videos though, which is my special time on computer, so I'm grateful for everything you bring and new 'unknown' artists I see here for the first time. Always very very inspiring!!!
Thanks Paneko1, just enjoy the ride. I'm planning on doing Jean-Michel Basquiat in the coming months, perhaps as a lesson for my local painting course. That would be nice, you could see 16 versions besides mine. We will see. Albert Oh and thanks for suggesting him. If you have more suggestions please don't hesitate to name them.
Hi!!! I am having a watch marathon of all your videos!! I had so much fun!! I love your series of "how to paint like". These are the things i am looking for. I need to explore different painting styles so i could find my own. I subscribed to you!! Btw,i cant blend 2 acrylic colors over a watercolor paper. How do you do it? Eventually,my paintings become flat. I am fine with it but i want to blend. Thanks for all!!!😊
Hi Jennifer, oh this is fun to hear. You're more than welcome! In my opinion you don't need to choose 1 painting style, I love them all. Blending can best be done with transparent paint. Look at the label of the paint. I use Galeria acrylics and only picked the transparent ones. Check it out on the internet. On watercolor paper you can blend by adding water but the colors fade. When you mix with (deluted) acryl medium you keep more of the brightness of the color. The quality of the paint is also important and it doesn't have to cost so much more to buy better products. Hope this helps. Have a nice day and see you next Sunday, haha. Bye, Albert
@@ImperfectPaintings uh-oh..guilty as charge. I buy cheap acrylic craft paints because that's what i could afford. Anyway, many thanks for answering my question. I screenshot your answer so i can remember. Thank you so much and have a wonderful day!!! 😉
Hi Jennifer, oh oh but please do compare prices and look at the weight and you will see that the prices for cheap and better paint aren't so different. Mixing colors with cheap paint is hard to do. Perhaps ask better paint for your birthday or under the Christmas tree? Or skip some Starbucks visits and buy yourself some nice paint. Bye, Albert
@@ImperfectPaintings well, the only paint available here in my local art store is liquitex basics. Is that fine to use?? How about water soluble crayons? Are they good for painting too??
Hi Jennifer, my day job needed my attention. Liquitecs basics looks fine. When you look af the tube or bottle you see a square. An open square is transparent paint, closed is the opposite, half/half is in between. Buy just a few basic colors like cadmium yellow, cadmium red and ultramarine and a mixing white and a titanium white a d have fun.learn to mix your other colors from it. Look up color wheel on the internet. If you want more colors lemon yellow and prussian blue and raw umber are interesting.. hope this helps. Liquitecs costs me here 9 euro for 118 ml (expensive in my opinion). Galeria acrylics (Winsor and Newton) gets me 500 ml for that price. Maybe try Amazon? Bye, Albert
Hi Sharon, thanks for commenting and your tip on Diebenkorn. I had to look him up, he is new to me. Very interesting artwork. Thanks! It can take a few weeks but I will definitely make a video. Have a happy day, Albert
