It's a real shame all these places are gone now. In the 90s we went to here and Mr Marvels in Scarborough, another year we went to Bubbles open air complex and Fronteirland in Morecambe- both long gone now too 😔
Crying shame this and Marvels no longer exsists. With the right investment both could have been amazing. The water park was huge fun as it stood, why did they demolish it?
@@ericgeorge5483 I don't know definitely which boat it is but I do know that for a time the hispaniola was sited at Atlantis after it was removed from the Mere.

Back when Scarborough was a real resort. The two longest waterslides in the world back then.
Atlantis should never have closed. Shame on you Scarborough Council.

when it first opened in the 80's it was called "Water Scene"
It sure was, Owned by Don Robinson in association with Fred Pontin. They also operated Scene 1 & 2 Nightclubs

Yeah that's what I always called it but it opened as water scene, then changed to water splash World, then became Atlantis in about 94/95. 🙂
@@mzty580 I remember at school it getting announced about the change and we had to come up with a new name. Not sure who came up with it though.
Just noticed at the end of the footage, you can see the hispaniola that used to sail on the mere! All these years and I only just noticed.
Or could it have been the Bark Endeavour, that used to regularly sail between Whitby and Scarborough?
