wen i lived in Mesa, Arizona...my former neighbor had a 157year old saguaro cactus in front of his yard, sadly he passed away from old age and we later got new neighbors that moved from New York...i came home from work only to my shock to see the entire cactus was cut down half pieces and piled on the ground....their only reason was ""it was ugly""...alot of the neighbors reported them to the police since cutting down a saguaro is illegal but we got told that it isn't illegal if its on their house's property....it was such a beautiful saguaro it always bloomed alot...such a loss...all the neighbors hate those new owners now
Saguaro can live as long 300 years. The saguaro the new neighbors cut down was middle age. I guess some New Yorkers don't like cactus . If the new neighbors didn't like the saguaro they could of had the saguaro transplanted elsewhere . D*MN Shame it happened to a saguaro still in its prime. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
i live in texas so we don't have them here. Bro if I moved into a house and it had a beautiful large 157 year old Saguaro 🌵. I would be SOOO excited and happy to see it everyday. Honestly shame they cut it. Angers me deeply.😡 🌵❤
There are videos of people in cold northern regions starting them indoors from seed ... I read it takes ten years for them just to get to an inch and a half tall ... and it might be fifty years before they reach anywhere near eight feet, but it says to me that you could totally grow them indoors ... so YES!
I know this comment is 5 years old, but like the other comment says you may be able to grow them indoors initially. They aren't especially difficult to start from seed. Keeping one after that could be a fun challenge.
This guy really knows his stuff and the other guy asks all the best questions.

i like the weeds on your lawn. stop cutting them or i will call the cops and hate you, then complain about you on youtube.
@@payasoinfeliz no weeds here since I don’t have grass lawns…it be a waste of water for that so no need for it
😊
This man is a Saguaro God.
Love the Saguaro, the sentinel of the Desert.
Professional cactus mover - pretty awesome job imo
These damn things are like Gizmo. Sounds like a perfect gift.
I wish I was a Saguaro cactus. It seems fun!
Learned tons. Thx for the upload.
This is all good information and those plants look great. Thanks
Oh my ,huge cactus .
It must be v difficult to transplant these thorny cactus plants .
Good video .
Goodass info! Much appreciation to yall!
Ohh woooow such a great video, I really enjoyed it.
¡Hermosa planta!
riveting! thank you. Where do I buy a bag of sulpher, (to transplant other cactus in my yard?
Nothing against the people in the video, but did anybody else get that 1980ish feeling? I feel like I was sitting in my science class in 1982.
The cactus aren't even the most wooden things in this video. That bad acting was delicious!
San Pedro's grow out there?
Let's all go and hug a saguaro 😂
I'm in NJ and wanted to start a Saguaro.......should I go against it ?

@villainousturtle lol
These people are stiffer than my prosthetic leg.
lol
I understand the transplant is actually a long death experience for a “protected” species
not true. Here in Tucson I've transplanted several 4 footers to new locations and they are now 15 footers, 10 years later
How about stop building into the desert and redevelop within the city. Leave the saguaros and stop scraping the natural landscape!
