I'd be freaking out a hell of a lot more if I were being dragged to Hell.
I would be screaming until I puke!
Yeah . . . This was a bit lackluster for the end of Faustus. Good production design but the acting fell flat.
I was going to say something like that. He sucked.
@@johnjaeger9879 Watch Richard Burton do that speech
"Nay, thou must feel them, taste the smart of all."
"He that loves pleasure must for pleasure fall."
So much said in but a few words. If that line alone is not enough to immortalize Marlowe as an equal to Shakespeare, then I don't know what is.
I didn't know little innocent Rory could be so scary.
I don't think even close to being scary! 😱 to me, I feel like he's the most courageous companion on the face of the Doctor Who planet! Or maybe he's just being very loud just to protect his love of his life: Amy. Or something! Idk!
That's acting for you!
i would loose my shit if i were to watch this live
Faust sounds like he’s about to cry
I was learning about this play in school and I really like it especially the sound effects and the actors suit the characters and the demons looked super creepy
I saw this in theaters in Phoenix last year. It was stellar. Please, please make this available via Digital Theatre like you did with the Falstaff plays. I would dearly love to own this one.
Wow! Looks amazing! I love the effects and the creepiness of it!
The furies' costumes were amazing.
FANTASTIC.
Sounds like he has a sore throat
I thought this Doctor Faustus was really poor, he's being dragged to Hell and he barely seems to care, it was all a bit awkward. But the production is very impressive and frightening.
awsome did not know the globe had a TH-cam channel until yesterday
Amazing play
Trained in theology, Faustus turns to magic and makes a perilous deal with the Devil in which he commits his soul to eternal damnation in return for power and knowledge in this life. But he is only human, and arrogant and reckless. Can Faust - or anyone - wield the powers of God or resist the temptations of the Devil?
His original monologue is longer than that.
I've no idea that Globe still exist.
SA Alzahrani No, it was a reconstruction built at the initiative of Sam Wannamaker, an American actor (to whom the second theatre space of the Globe, Sam Wannamaker Playhouse, is dedicated to). The original Globe no longer exist.
The Globe's performance used the B text, not the A text of Faustus. There are some differences between the two

Excellent
It was cool but he should have been louder and more scared
Charles Manson? Excellent casting decision.
Wish I could watch this live while high
Interesting!
Where's the fun jig after the end?!
Hah yeah. I was looking for that
I'm pretty familiar with the play, but who is the fallen angel with the big wings at the end (remind me if I've forgotten)?
Also, I'd love to see the full production of this, anyone know where I can find it? Or could somebody post it up on TH-cam in full or something please? That'd be awesome! :D
The angel at the end is Lucifer, it's sorta the answer to the question of why he's been needing to be supported by minions in order to walk all play: he's still used to flying.
You can actually rent the full version online, if you google digital theater. Btw, this clip cut out the bit after the bows which was the best part of the entire show.
Holy Crap! Is that Rip Hunter from Legends as Mephistopheles?!
Hell yeah
No, it's Rory Williams trying to be protective.
you just watched the horrors of Hell and you keep expressing yourself in this way ? Imprudence
Where can I get the full version?
OMG I RELLY LIKE THIS SHIT!
This looks like a really good production. Is it B-text?
Rowan Williams it has both A and B
Can I watch the full play. Someone please tell🥺
Is the rest of this production available online ?
Explain the wings at the end, please. thanks.
Bit late, but the fallen angel is returned to god, hence the white wings, contrasting colour of white with the demons colours (black and red) symbolises the purity
@@Psgsshjl thanks.
In the last scene, who is the character with white wings?
Lucifer!
@@daniaal4276 Thank you!
wow
Where can i get the full video?
Hi @user-fd1ne6db8d - 'Dr Faustus' (2011) is available to watch on our VOD platform GlobePlayer.tv 😊
does anyone know´s, where can I watch the whole thing?
@@ShakespearesGlobe The link seems to be broken, I would love to watch this too.
It’s been 2 years and I still want to know where to watch this version
@@Psgsshjl i too..🥺
Lucficer isn't supposed to have any lines in this scene (or indeed this Act) is he? He certainly wasn't there when I read or saw the play
there's an a text and a b text, the b text doesn't have all the scenes in so you may have read that version :)
Thanks! I forgot there was a second text. Not actually Marlowe's work the one I haven't read I don't think, it was adapted by someone else after his death. Also apologies for the stupid typo in Lucifer
Satan was turned into an angel? Why?
scientific method perspective he has become stronger because he has gained another soul for his kingdom
Great staging, but the guy playing Faustus is awful.
Slow and dispassionate. Uggghhh.
Seems a weak and disjointed performance
