i really like this episode great job making things more interesting with costumes tho i have only played viticulture so i think its better also viticulture has an expansion called tuscany its small tho and gives every some extra resources at the start its good tho

Concerning your question for games to compare to each other in season 2: Card games, or especially trick-taking games, are a genre that you haven't dealt with yet. So, what about ... "Tichu" versus "Wizard"?

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with "Diamonds". There's another trick taking card game that comes to mind: "Stich-Meister" ("Trick Master") from Friedemann Friese. In case you're not familiar with this: Similar to "FluXX", the trump and scoring rules are different each game as *every* player chooses (secretly) and contributes one trump rule card and one score rule card before the game begins. Total mayhem then often ensues when your seemingly strong hand turns into useless bunch of crap and you have to think on your feet on how to make best use of your card hand now. ^^
Okay, Matt, you talked me into buying "Viticulture". Tough decision, though. But, Robin, do not despair, your performance was great, too and "Euphoria" might become part of my collection in the not-so-far future. The main reason of choosing "Viticulture" over "Euphoria" was the theme, after all. I think it's much better suited for introducing the game to new players compared to "Euphoria". When I saw the "Euphoria" game board for the first time, I caught myself thinking "Whoa! What kind of mind-boggling maze is that?!" xD
oh every one who has played the game knows to make sure you have red and white grapes oh you unlucky get two white grapes i see hmm thats kind of a miner thing tho you see there is a hand limit so getting more green cards is the easyest and you can discard too
I do like a good worker placement game. I must say, from this video, Euphoria look quite daunting, but I do like the look of Viticulture. I may have to check that one out.
Not even close. Viti is far superior to Euphoria. In Euphoria there are combination of things that can happen to you that makes the game unplayable for a player. This never happened in Viti and the scores are always very close.
Well I've never been enslaved so I can't really comment on that too much. However I did enjoy this video very much and can't wait for season 2. I've played neither of these so I'll have to take your word that Euphoria is better!
Viticulture is so much better game. If you can also get Tuscany it's in another level. I hate Euphoria's theme, worker management and chaotic board without it having a truly good reason.
I would love to have Tuscany but I'm now trapped in the gap between editions. The Tuscany for my (old 2nd ed) is long out of print and I can't justify buying a new Essential Edition base game. So I'm kind of stuck! Totally understand not getting on with Euphoria's theme. And the board is chaotic. I think intentionally (they certainly wanted the tunnels to map spatially on to the region artwork). It supports the sense of a dystopian bureaucratic nightmare at least...
@@CreakingShelves if you love Viticulture don't make the mistake of not getting Essential Edition + Tuscany Essential Edition. But also if you dont want to get into extra expenses just get Tuscany Essential Edition. It is compatible with the older versions of Viticulture.

Euphoria is daunting. Viticulture is the easier to get into. But Euphoria is so delightfully tongue in cheek :p
