Like Haley, I would be so embarrassed and irritated. Instead of coming to Haley's birthday, his girlfriend of 7 years, Tony would rather go drinking at a club with his friends. Not to mention other girls. Then Haley had to go pick him up because he was passed out drunk. I would be so mad. Tony claims he didn't forget Haley's birthday and was planning to spend it with her. Then why did he go drinking with his friends? Why didn't he call or tell his friends he had something important to do? As Haley said, it doesn't matter anymore. The fact of the matter is, he forgot like always. When he kept quiet when Haley gave him one last chance when she asked those questions, that confirmed she made the right decision breaking up with him. He proved he didn't care about her or their relationship. He cared more about himself and hanging out with his boys and drinking than being with her.
Here is a question: what is more important - earning some more money or spend a bithtday with one you supposedly love? He wouldn't starve if that job wasn't concluded. He could fake having stomach problems and went to hospital then to his girl. Or, he could find legit excuse or just tell honestly: my partner has a birtday today and I promised to be with her. So, I have to go. Nobody would blame him, I think, but would consider him being lovimg and responsible. That vould be a true evaluation of their relationship. Ofcourse lots of men wouldn't choose to do it because they think: she will wait obidiently or even - her feelings are not as importanr as money or whatever else that is going on. The fact is what one really wants to do, can always find a way to do it and all the excuses are just rubbish.
There's no cheating. Honestly, I sympathise with Tony. If only he shared a little bit more about his life these 7 years and his plan. Unfortunately, her patience wear off.
She could have asked these questions at the beginning. It only takes a few months to know the right person is she/he. 7 years … both were not sure of each other.
I still don't grasp the reason behind Haley breakup and when she ask the "future" question, why can't Tony explain when he already got the ring 1 YEAR AGO! I don't understand why people need specific time to propose, isn't it proof HE'S NOT READY YET?(because he delay so much). But the fact that he HIDE his family situation from a partner who he wants to marry and spend a future with prove that he's not fully trust her🤷🏻♀️ so they are not meant to be, even if they love each other.
Neglect is worse to me than physically cheating. If I caught my man physically cheating I can end a relationship decisively, but neglect can draw out a relationship for years. I don't feel sorry for Tony, 7 years is 7 years to be upfront with the person who you wanted to spend your life with.
i just feel bad for Tony. The narrative did not justify the reason for the one sided break up. They were still young and only together (as couple) for few years. How would she know that Tony has no plan for marriage? she never talk to Tony. even in the narrative Tony did not neglect her as much.. and had reasons why he works much .. i listened to many of the stories & i just feel that here , Hailey is no good. too shallow tbh
My ex and I were together for 12 years before we got married. We ALWAYS knew we would get married. We introduced each other to our parents. Engagement ring was given after 3 years of dating

Yeah, I think it was time to move on. After 7 years and he wasn't ready to lock in he probably never was.
7 years….i am glad she moved on

Happy and sad story actually
