The wail tone on the original GE powercall is actually the best tone... it has a deep slow wind-up and wind-down. Its often forgotten and rarely used. But trust me, it is awesome. And doing on manual is equally dope.
I agree!!!! You need to intermittently BLAST the air horns for at least 2-3 seconds…I HATE when drivers or officers “toot” the horns or “flutter” as they call it…sounds like absolute shit and plays major hell on the air valves
When I was growing up my grandfather was a deputy chief so I spent lots of time watching firemen do their jobs. Back then the drivers fought the fires too. They'd have three guys hanging on the back, two up front and two sitting in an open cab. Specialization has led to more efficiency I guess.
I can see the fire fighter on the right pulling the chain to sound a horn to remind the motorists up ahead that there’s a fire engine coming up behind them
That siren unit is so unique and old, sometimes feels like the old stuff is better than the new stuff. Gotta love it
Same
Honestly, the Powercall sounds a bit too modern...
Honestly, Powercalls don't sound old. Q's do, though.

That 70s era siren is pretty cool, you don't see that kind of stuff anymore
I Am A Huge Fan Of Fire Trucks 🚒
I always loved blowing the airhorns via chain vs button on the floor..
Wait, there used to be an Air Horn button on the floor rather than a rope or one on the driver's panel?!
@@milesjones6851the newer trucks have the horn at the foot of the driver.
