for the cat install, make it an easy swappable type,, weld flanges either end on tube make bolt on type.
once inspection passed, remove & install a link pipe which is same length as cat with flanges. tis what I do for clients who run no cats but need cats for emission test, aka dekat pipe, you have all the tools, 2hrs tops ,,plasma cutter to cut flanges , welder and drill press for bolt holes.any thickness plate above 1/4". choice of flanges either 3 bolt per flange 120 degree bolt patten or lazy 2 bolt patten 180 degree holes " don't like latter kind" as for the egr, never had a diesel / petrol turbo motor fail emissions test not installed. most of the turbo petrol cars run after market programmable ecu's .
