Hi Maryam, your book reviews were interesting and I love that you were honest about the books you disliked! I haven't really got into the fantasy genre much, although I might try the Susanna Clarke book you recommended. The only one I have read is Rebecca, which is one of my all-time favourite books. I also recommend the 1940 Alfred Hitchcock movie. It's interesting that Daphne du Maurier never gives us the main characters name, probably to emphasise her own feelings of insignificance compared to Rebecca. 😊
@@leannerussell6998 Oh wow I didn’t know there was a movie, I will watch it for sure! I forgot about the main character not having a name. She just becomes an extension of the husband in the end. It was so interesting to read, I was angry at her for not reacting more to the truth behind Rebecca’s death, but I guess it was in line with her character. Mrs Danvers is written so well, the perfect villain!
I agree! The actress who plays Mrs Danvers in the movie was perfect for the role too 😊
