Always so soothing to listen to you and the birds. The finish for your types of tea stitch looks gorgeous, I like the matting/trim to make it a different shape
Hi Maryam! I just picked up your charity pattern, it's beautiful. I love that you talk about stitching and other topics. When you throw in the beautiful nature sounds it makes for a podcasty feel which is fun to listen to while stitching. Love those Lola Crow and Mojo Stitches pieces, how pretty. The retreat should be fun! Can't wait to hear about that!
Thank you so much!! Can’t wait to see your progress on it 💜 I’m happy to hear the nature sounds aren’t too distracting haha. I might do an episode in my garden next time. Can’t wait for the retreat either!! Stitching for a weekend is my idea of heaven
I really enjoyed your podcast! Especially the segment about your work life! I love that you are always adding interesting facts about plants or animals as well as discussions that make me think. I always learn something new, so thank you!
First time viewer. You were really a pleasure to watch and your discussion about mental health issues was really pertinent to what is happening today. Where I live, we have the third largest homeless population in America. So many of these people are in need of mental health assistance, and it is sad to see what happens to them. Your designs are lovely! Women, life, freedom
Thank you for your kind words 💜 Oh that sounds so sad. Are there any free mental health units in the USA? I can imagine a lot of the homeless population and prison population have mental health concerns, particularly if access to care is difficult.
Hey Maryam, lovely video as always. Lovely projects ❤ it's important to break down stigma and discuss these difficult topics. It was one of the areas I really struggled with when I worked in psychiatry - secluding people and restraint, particularly administering medication IM under restraint, it broke my heart. I can't believe you have security staff in Australia. We don't have that on the inpatient units here. Hope your exams have been successful for you ❤ love your kit, so pretty 😍 women life freedom for all xxx
I forgot that you worked in mental health too! There are a few of us stitchers who were in that profession. I can’t believe you don’t have security staff in the UK?! How do you manage the aggressive patients? The security here help with administering IMs and if scheduled patients abscond. Thanks for your kind words 💜 fingers crossed I won’t have to sit the exam again!
I'd love to be a Ufologist too. Ever since Barack Obama said there were things in the sky they can't explain I've been obsessed with UFO videos. There's definitely something unexplainable going on. I love your stitching, and the sound of your budgies happily chattering away in the background. Women, life, freedom.
Thank you for your video and sharing your beautiful work. I also work in psychiatry and am a psychiatric nurse in the UK and my cross stitch and Papercraft is how I relax and manage the stressors of the job as well.
Oh papercraft looks so lovely! I have admired it from afar but have never tried it. Might put it on my hobbies list. I have a lot of respect for psychiatry nurses , they really are on the front line and have to manage a lot of stressful situations on the ward. Wow there seems to be a lot of cross stitchers who work in mental health though!!They should make it a prerequisite for the job!
@@craftyyams4960 haha yes they should! Many of my colleagues are creative too, in my team there is a lady who sews, a jewellery maker and a potter. I work in the community with schizophrenia and psychosis specifically, stressful but rewarding in equal measure. My free time is working on a design team for AALL & Create, a papercraft company and I design cards with the beautiful products I get sent. Recently I've got back into cross stitch and discovered the Flosstube black hole! 😆

Thank you! I’ve been using that macrame cord in a lot of my finishes. It is useful for distracting from mistakes or oddly shaped fabric!

I am working on your Zan Zendgi Azadi pattern. Really enjoying stitching it. I am not sure how to send the photo of that in TH-cam:(
Thank you! 💜
I want to believe in the profession of Ufology
Me too! 😫
