I love them both BUT the Hancock Center was the first truly 100 story building in the world.

Both some of the best buildings ever designed and constructed. I'm a fan of modern minimalism so I do love the JHC but there's nothing like the timeless classic design of a NY Skyscraper like the ESB or Chrysler for that matter...

It's always interesting to me how the John Hancock Center and Sears Tower rivaled the Empire State Building and World Trade Center in height, during a time when there was a concern that Chicago would somehow eclipse NYC during its rough period in the 1970s.

With the antenna, the JHC is taller but if you count where the spire on the ESB ends and where the roof of JHC ends, then the ESB is taller.
