- The 142nd Wing out of the Portland Air National Guard Base is officially unveiling its new F-15EX Eagle II fighter jet - which will also be the first unit in America to be used in real-world missions!
Watch LIVE as the jet takes off on a "ribbon-curring" high-speed flight!
The F-15EX is a replacement for the 142nd Wing's F-15C/D fleet, which was built in the 1980s.
While the new jet might look similar, pilots tell KATU that everything on the inside is new and improved.
The F-15EX has improved affordability, speed, range, payload, and rapid technology paths.
The USAF currently operates six F-15EX aircraft at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida for testing, and the Air National Guard has received their first two at Portland Air National Guard Base, Portland, Oregon. The 142nd Wing is the first unit in the USAF to operate the F-15EX for real-world missions. - บันเทิง
Skip to last 3 minutes to see them take off lol
Two beautiful brand new birds! Man they got off the ground quick being clean like that!
As an Oregon Native I remain a 142nd fan and supporter. This unit has always been at the top.
I was driving eastbound on Marine Dr when all four went vatical in front of me. What a blast!
That's a wicked startup sound. Sounds like a combination of an F-18 and F-22.
The music of my people! I miss it alot. Gives me chills hearing it now ❤
One of the most beautiful combat aircraft ever!
One of the fastest zero to rotate times I've ever seen. Damn!
@@ryanskare6670 it’s crazy how much power they have
The f15 can actually break the sound barrier climbing VERTICALLY . The only other one was the English Electric Lightening. The power to weight ratio of the Eagle is pretty much unmatched. Speed is life
The Air National Guard and Reserve Forces is where our expertise resides for these people continue their missions not only out of Duty, but because THEY LOVE IT! Protection of a Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) is a mission that will not go away.
Those engineers in the 70's were something else.
And now the sheer size and power of the design lend itself to all sorts of modern applications, pretty nuts.
I love the 15,s but i sure miss the f14,s with its swept wings and butt kickin attitude
in every regard except fleet defense the eagle is superior
Okay Maverick, whatever you say, stop fantasizing about the movie top gun!
That’s a nasty baddass piece of Gen 4 hardware
Love those new Afterburner
4 absolutely gorgeous birds, no better sight or sound!!! only thing missing is communications between pilot and ground
Why do you say "no communications"????? Please inform me why this is true.
@@wesmahan4757 wow........just wow!!!!!!
Way cool just 16 more to go and they have all brand new jets.
The Oregon 142nd Wing is the tip of the spear in homeland defense. They will be training and helping to develop the optimal tactics for this amazing war machine. Most folks will never fully understand the technological achievements built into this plane. The force multiplication capability is unprecedented.
Most people will never understand the ridiculous amount of money it costs.
@@canlib not more than an F-35.
@@butchshadwell3613 Absolutely more than the F-35A.
Reminds me of the old Roger Ramjet cartoons in the 60's. First frame shot- horizontal takeoff, second frame shot- vertical climb, third frame shot- horizontal flight- cruising altitude. Lol
Max speed : mach 2.9. ..actually faster than both the Mig 25 and 31...most variants. The Mig 25 Can Exceed mach 3 in the R version but it'll burn up its engines doing so . The 15 is the ONLY fighter aside from the f22 to be able to ACCELERATE TO MACH ONE IN A CLIMB. it wasn't the first though. The British electric lighting did ut in 1956. Maybe that's why these are my two favorites
Aaahh! 4044 GAB'd! One of my old girls from Bitburg/Spangdahlem. What broke?
absolutely fantastic
For as elegant & Graceful the F-15 Ex looks Don’t kid yourself is more Like a Terminator 2 Killer.
In that Configuration Fly -by-wire,AESA Radar , EPAWS along with Two New GE29,500 lbs Thrust- Stealth is the only thing keeping it 5Th Generation instead 4.5+.
Pretty Sure with no CFT attached to it Cleanly the F-15Ex can Super cruise .
Hope it does not take this long in the event
Their was a time where you had to be top of your class & Lucky to nail an F15 seat.. Now everyone wants an F35 or F22.. Still Not a bad deal to land an F15 or F16 either.. Whereas every other country in the world has "1" maybe "2" Top of the line fighter jet
Can’t believe they gave that to Portland.
Is that James Bond’s bird? 007?
snowcat, No ITS State of OREGON'S Birds!!!!!
Q himself couldn’t build something that good.
Let er" rip!
Could these be configured for aircraft carrier duty, for the fleet defense mission, seeing as they already have a significantly stronger airframe?
No, those are Airforce jets, not Navy
@@Crabby5150 Of course, that doesn't exclude from being developed for the Navy.
No. Theres a reason they didn't. # 1 requirement for carrier airplanes is withstanding carrier landings
That's not where they added the rigidity its torsional not impact
@@terenceflanagan1225 All true enough, but an f-15 variant was developed to compete with the F-14 but lost to an F-14 that could carry more missiles, ect. Can an F-15EX carry more weapons configured for aircraft carrier than a Super Hornet? With those engines, maybe?
Now the Air Force needs to add one of these babies to the flight demo regimen. Seems there is a paucity of F-15s at air shows in the last few years.
Not a chance anytime soon.
Why didn't F15EX install a CFT tank?
Per U.S. Air Force Maj. Alli Stormer the 142nd's EXs didn't have CFTs funded since they're replacing C/Ds who didn't have them. It's also not a high priority since with the 2 drop tank configuration it's more than sufficient to fulfill the air defense role, however CFTs would reduce drag compared to drop tanks so it seems short sighted
Unfortunately, the EX still has a radar cross section like a barn door. 😊
What wasthe delay ... let me guess manufacturer error ? Lol
F15 best jet todate
1.5 hours video with hardly any flight demo? Seriously? 😅
Almost like they fly away to a training area or something.
I wonder when they’re getting their pylons?
You mean the CFT's? They're not funded currently.
Glad parts didn’t fly off… Nice job Boeing
people in comments worshipping a dang weapon
Go to Russia. This is why we aren't Ukraine ya goof
