I think to your point about imperfections on vocals, the most notable song in my opinion would be Johnny Cash - Hurt. In that song he by no means sings perfectly but you can feel the emotion and it comes across as raw which adds to the sincerity of the message. Ollie has that perfectly imperfect voice when performing songs that feel like a cry for help.
you really need to check out some of the more emotional songs off of the album Sempiternal. "And the snake start to sing", "Hospital for Souls" "Can you feel my heart" Sempiternal will always be my favorite. IT was a perfect mix of the heaviness and emotional transition.

They performed in full at the Royal Albert Hall show with Bring Me and they also performed with bands like Alter Bridge too 🤘🏻

About neck tats: every place where you make tats will feel different, the neck is a very sensible area (something about evolution making us being afraid of hurting the neck I think) so yeah, the neck is one of the most sensible places to make a tattoo places where the skin is too thin or too thick will be painful too, right over bones also. Safe places to make tattoos without the pain are often the arms and the legs (avoiding elbows and knees), I would recomend caution if you want tats in the ribs (lots of bones), belly (the skin is thick and elastic, so the artist will need to go full brutal if he wants the ink to stay), the head (same as ribs) and the neck or genital area (areas with thin skin and lots of nerve brances)
Fun fact: Getting the inside of my knees and elbows tattooed didn't hurt for me. I also have a chest piece that wanders up to the neck a little, the little part on the neck didn't hurt for me. It was just weird to breath during it. My spine has been my most painful body part to be tattooed

This version is beautiful, but the original studio recording is just as grand. Very epic. Also, Oli has stated that the neck tattoo didn’t hurt that much, it just felt the weirdest. If you’re really curious, check out Oli on Inked TV here on TH-cam. The video is about 10 years old at this point, but he goes through all the tattoos he had at the time and discusses them in depth.

Neck is one of the most sensitive places on the body (lots of nerve endings) and is one of the most painful tattoo locations in conjunction with Spine, Hands, Feet, Nipples, Genitals, Elbow, and (back of) Knee. Basically, any place that's super bony (Spine, Fingers, etc.) or has thinner skin (Wrist, Neck, joints, etc.) are going to hurt the most. Ditto because all of these places have tons of nerve endings, since extremities, Spine, Nipples, Genitals, and Neck have some of the highest concentrations of nerve endings in the body. Source: I looked it up from a few tattoo artist's websites, but I've also got a handful of tattoos and can say from experience that Spine is extremely sensitive. Wrist is nothing in comparison, but is still rated as really painful. The MOST painful are supposedly Neck and Spine and/or Nipples and Genitals, with the rest being riiiight below that.
None on my neck, but my tat on my clavicle area hurt like hell. I won’t even lie, any tat on bone sucks. My back and shoulder I had zero pain, for the most part. It stung for a few minutes, but after that I hardly felt it. I fell asleep at one point.

As someone with their throat/neck tattooed.. yes it hurts more than most spots. The only spots that I think are comparable are certain parts of your head, your elbows, and the ditch of your arm (the opposite side of your elbow).
I cant listen to this song with out crying. I do have depression and it just really does hit close to home for me and lately I've notice just how much my depression is really affecting my life so yeah I will probably cry watching this reaction....but it's such a good song.

Yes absolutley tattoos on the neck hurt a ton I only have the back of my neck done and man that was rough. My hands were pretty bad too but you get a big enough tattoo anywhere for long enough it'll hurt terribly. Longest Ive been tattooed for was 7 hours straight when I was getting my sleeve started very painful.

It's a really interesting punk band which has been hugely influential to the genre of emo, gothic, and pop punk but never really got to be as mainstream as contemporaries like blink 182. They came to my mind when you talked about how important melody is in songs, and boy, do they have great melodies...
Linkin Park's "The Messenger" reminds me a lot of this, and is incredible -- I think the studio recording is the most affecting vocal performance of Chester Bennington's career.

To answer your tattoo question, I have a fairly big neck tattoo on the same spot as Oli and it was surprisingly not that painful, one of the least painful I have. Great reaction btw as always !

I would love to see you react to my favorite band of all time by the name of Counterparts. The lead vocalist does mostly harsh vocals but the amount of emotion in the lyrics and execution is unmatched. Instrumentals are absolute god tier as well. I 100% recommend you listen you the song You’re Not You Anymore. The amount of times I’ve shed a tear to that song is far too many. Love your channel and videos!

Yes absolutley tattoos on the neck hurt a ton I only have the back of my neck done and man that was rough. My hands were pretty bad too but you get a big enough tattoo anywhere for long enough it'll hurt terribly. Longest Ive been tattooed for was 7 hours straight when I was getting my sleeve started very painful.

everyone's different, but the neck tends to hurt more because it's thinner skin and closer to nerves and such. for me, my neck work both hurt like hell, and tickled liked hell (because i'm ticklish), two sensations that make it really hard to sit still

They came to my mind when you talked about how important melody is in songs, and boy, do they have great melodies...
Linkin Park's "The Messenger" reminds me a lot of this, and is incredible -- I think the studio recording is the most affecting vocal performance of Chester Bennington's career.
