Having a LOT of fun with the black knight. I was originally going down the Rightful Christain morality path, changed direction after watching this video to pick up black knight. I found one item that really made him shine. It's a ring that grants 'Earthball' skill. It's a 1AP spell that hits a 3x3 area for 75% weapon damage. It comes in clutch for keeping the AP train going after you have a few stacks of rage. You can position Black knight next 1 enemy, with not quite enough AP to attack (say 2 or 3), lob the Earth ball at another enemy, get the kill (which gives +2AP) and triggers the Killing Spree auto attack on the guy next to you and get more AP. Combined with gain movement AP on kill or teleport on kill and the train just keeps on rolling. With the Glory Kill upgrade on strike lowering the cooldowns each time you kill with it: You can get multiple leap/eath shaker/earthball attacks per turn.
I also like the Earth Ball skill. Any 1 ap attack skill is useful. There's another one with poison cone that I essentially use in the exact same way. Glad you're enjoying Black Knight!
Yea, been seeing lots of over reactions. Clearly they're weaker now as you won't be running around with 30 AP but you can certainly still do some crazy sweeps. Now you just need better gear that isn't AP per kill focused. You have to play smarter and think about positioning more too which I like because it's more tactical.
Thanks for making this video, I just picked up Black Knight for my first real playthrough of the game, so I'm excited to follow your advice. Good to hear that leap attack is good cause I love that ability.
@@GameLover45408 I have a build for Ector, but I guess I never really got to one for Kay. My summarized version would be to pick up each of his active skills other than Preparedness. I think that skill is kind of trash. You'll want the same passives that are sort of standard for Champions and I cover those in all the Champion related videos I've made. Rage, Damage Focus, Killing Spree etc. Earth Shaker, Power Attack, Death Strike and Kick are his best active skills to invest in. You can ignore Whirlwind or take it if you like it, I usually skip it, but if you have extra skill points lying around it won't hurt.
The Mercenary trait - does it cut 20% from ALL mission reward gold or just the few that you actually find during the missions in crates etc? How big is the impact?
The total at the end of the mission. I personally haven't found it to be that noticeable or detrimental. I know others that have found it to be a pain. I'd say if you're running out of gold or low on gold with some regularity then purge it or sit him out. If you find that you're doing fine on gold, not really spending that much of it, then it's like it's not even there.
I know the vids a bit older, but if you still happen to have the game downloaded, any chance you could upload your save file? I'm doing a bit of file editing to fix a couple poor decisions in the game so I don't have to start over, and would love to have a save file for a good reference to work off of!

Well you can hold down spacebar to increase animation time. I also use my editing software to speed it up even more cuz having a 10 minute long fight watching characters that the build isn't about isn't going to be super interesting to a lot of people I think lol
I'm doubtful tbh. He can do this, but even in the examples it was barely and that's entirely specific to him having leap attack. Other champions don't have leap attack. A nerf just for Black Knight seems unlikely. It also takes much more specific gear and better builds to do this than before. On top of all that there are rounds where I can't do this lol

Glad you made the vid. The amount of crying over the AP rebalance seems unwarranted.

The nerf was done just to Champions or to other classes as well?
The AP per kill nerf was to gear only. Champions benefitted the most from this.

I prefer Black Knight because Leap Attack is really cool, fun and just really really strong.
