Rewards of Hard Work Tom and Sarah both started working at the same company on the same day. They were hired after a long selection process. Tom was 30 years old, and Sarah was 28. They were both excited to start their new jobs. At first, they were very similar-both were new, eager, and ready to prove themselves. But as time passed, their work habits became very different. Sarah was always focused on her work. She was diligent and organized. Every morning, she made a list of tasks and made sure to finish them on time. She didn’t spend time on things that were not related to her job. Instead, she worked hard to complete her projects. Sarah knew that hard work was important and that doing a good job would help her succeed in the company. Tom, on the other hand, had a different approach. He liked to take it easy. Even though he started his job with excitement, he quickly became less focused. Tom spent a lot of time on social media, checking his Facebook and Instagram. He enjoyed chatting with his coworkers more than doing his work. Tom often left his tasks for the last minute, thinking, "I can do this later. There’s no need to rush." He believed that the relaxed atmosphere in the office meant that he could take his time. Months passed, and the company started having problems. Sales were down, and the boss announced that the company needed to cut costs. The boss called for a meeting and said, "We have to make some changes. Some people will lose their jobs, but those who work hard and show good results might get a promotion." Tom felt nervous. He realized that while he was procrastinating, Sarah was doing great work. She had completed many projects early and had good ideas that helped the company. She was always improving her work and showing that she was responsible. When it was time to make decisions, the boss called Sarah into his office. After a short talk, Sarah came out with a smile. She had been promoted to project manager, with a higher salary and more responsibilities. She was very happy. Tom, however, received a letter. The letter said that the company no longer needed his services. Tom felt sad and worried. He stood by his empty desk and thought about how he had wasted his time. He realized that if he had worked as hard as Sarah, his situation could have been different. This story shows that hard work and responsibility are important in any job. Even if the workplace seems relaxed, it is important to stay focused and do your best. Opportunities may not always be there, and when difficult times come, only those who have worked hard will be ready to face them. Tom learned this lesson the hard way, while Sarah was rewarded for her dedication and effort. Remember, it is always better to do your work now and not leave it for later. Consistent effort is the key to success in the long run.
I love these stories . I think is a excellent way to learn English. I consider it is a great success to start with the vocabulary, because it's easier to remember it later
Hay una película con esta historia muy buena en Netflix con el mismo argumento aunq mas violento pueden practicar el inglés con eso. Me encanta este canal buen trabajo . La peli en España se llama " Juego limpio"
