    We are lucky to live in a time when you can get a cheap-o for one third of the price of this KYORITSU and it will be objectively better. Also these reviews are a good reminder that you can get a crappy multimeter regardless of the price. You are saving our wallets, Mr.Walker. 👍

    At beggining of video i though that the plastic rubber molding is trashy, but at the end of the video i considered it as best part of that DMM

Oops almost forgot, have you ever thought of making a video once or twice a year where you would list your top ten el cheapo meters? would really be helpful for us folks that like to buy cheapo meters. Thanks for your work and keep em coming.

    I think the mA input works as intended, the mA input range is 0-400 mA (4000 counts meter...), the next range is 4A so you are supposed to switch to Amps... It's in the user manual BTW...

    For this kind of money you can get an Owon B41T+ with way more features and way greater resolution, or almost even an brymen BM235 with more features and resolution and professional safety build quality.
    This looks more like a $25 meter from aliexpress than a quality brand meter. (and for $25 you even might get a better spec meter on ali)

    anybody else think the current shunt is very close to the fuse carrier, do you think it could be a "fake"? It just doesn't look like Japanese engineering/design, anyway it's one to avoid. thanks for a great video.

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not a fake...came from a reputable KYORITSU vendor, it's just a sad state of current affairs..end profits have replaced build quality 😕

    Hi Darren. I'm looking to buy a Multimeter. Could you recommend one of those? Uni-T UT139S, 139C, 139E or an UT15B Pro. Those are the one i could get for a really good price here in Germany. Thank you very much!

      @@KeepOnTesting thank you for the quick response! Alright! Out of your videos I thought the 139S would be the best choice cause of the display an I could get it for about 50 Euros. The 15B Pro has the nicer backstand because it's fix and it would cost me around 80 Euros. Is it worth the extra charge?

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No problem.. 15B Pro is a better built multimeter..the display is definitely nicer on the 139S though.
      Yes the big question..Is the 15B worth 30$ more .??..I don't think so..at that price differential I'd probably settle on the 139S.

      I'll have to check that dmm out...

  • @budi0251
    @budi0251 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    well, indeed too expensive.
    I suppose it should be in the 30-40 USD (it is priced appropriately in my region).
    Thanx for the review, always wonder about its quality for $40 I'd say pretty good (though $80 is way too much overpriced, are you sure about your price? cause they have higher specced 1011 & 1012 which is indeed priced around $80 ).
    I see an empty pcb mask for 2 MOV/sparkgap, I'd say a 10mm 820 volts is supposedly being soldered there.
    The track looks like is correctly to clamp voltage input to ground with high current/high resistance resistor in series in one path and a PTC on the other.
    With MOV/SG installed should you gets a transient during measurement then the PTC may blow up but probably will save the meter.
    I have Kyoritsu 1021r (true RMS), definitely better with Hycon P66 chip, but mine is troublesome when measuring anything related to DC voltage will take a long time for the result to appear on screen (DCV, DCmV, Ohms, Diode, DC current; when they appear they measured correctly though), anything with AC (ACV, ACmV, capacitance, frequency, AC Current) is working properly as they should be.
    What can be the problem? bad Hycon chip?

    • @GameProgrammer79
      @GameProgrammer79 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is more like $3 to $5 multimeter sold in the hardware store .. no true RMS .. really poorly built

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm..I doubt it's the chip in this case. Have you tried clearing the selector switch with IPA? Weird things can happen if the tracks aren't debris free..minute solder particles, Flux and dirt can all cause erratic readings..

  • @rinqucosta2422
    @rinqucosta2422 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Isn't Kyoritsu a Japanese meter?

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As with many top tier vendors they've outsourced many operating expenses to other countries...including manufacturing. Most of their multimeters today come from Malaysia or China..

    The good the bad and the ugly, with a tiny hint of quality in the brass inserts fisher price range switch and bolted but not well soldered input jacks. WAY too much money and the range indicators look like something off of a childs fisher price "see-n-say" learning toy. Circuit board is a mix of SMD and through hole with failure prone old school electrolytic caps. Cant believe what theyre asking for....this.

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fisher Price is probably better built than this KYORITSU!! Unfortunately, I haven't come across such an expensive CHEAPLY made dmm in a long time..echhh🙄

    @pyromen321 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That PCB is absolutely atrocious for a $60+ multimeter. Not to mention the performance!
    I expected some input protection to justify the price, but nope. It’s about the same as a $10 cheapo. The only thing nice on it is the fuses.

    • @KeepOnTesting
