Thank you Tsukamoto - san for showing the innards of this meter. Being the same multimeter, the case of the Kyoritsu looks better than the Yokogawa's. Better color combination. I have several multimeters also, and it is hard to fight the impulse to collect them all.

Thank you for your comment. Could be never enough to have enough multimeters. :) I want to upload more videos. I was able to have a job on weekdays and difficult to find the time now. I might try this weekend.

hello.. good video.. could you help me to know a technical data of my KYORITSU kew 1051 multimeter. I want to know if it has the option of connecting to a PC. When I disarmed it, I noticed that it had 2 infrared communication LEDs. in the manual it says no... but the electronic board has led for communication.

By just reading the specification of the KEW 1051, it do not have capability of connecting to a PC.
The datasheet says KEW 1052 is able to connect with a PC.
The firmware in the 1051 have not been removed the capability of transmitting the data to PC the it might have a hope for it.
How about checking with some IR sensor if any signal is coming out from the 1051 first?

I have a Ty720 model and LCD contrast is a little weak.
I saw some people changing the LCD bias resistor.
Do you know how to do this on the Ty720?

The contract of ty720 is bad, and I also have thought changing the LCD bias register but never had a time to investigate it yet.

    Where are these multimeters made?

I do not have any connection with Kyoritsu or Yokogawa at the moment, so this is the information I know so far from visiting the shop. The TY720 and KEW1062 are made in Japan. They are not in the video but TY500 series and KEW1050 series are made in Tailand.

Will definitely consider those two Japanese meters. I really need something next to Fluke 87V. I can always trust Japanese quality. Thank you a bunch.

Kyoritsu KEW 1052 = Yokogawa TY530? Made in Japan?

Thank you. I see Hioki build quality is superior. Oki Doki Hioki!!

I assume you are pronouncing the Japanese company names properly, so now I will try..

Oh, Yokogawa and Kyoritsu are pronounced differently? I do not know the pronounces in other than the Japanese ones, I believe they have English youtube channel, I will look them later.

Would be cool if you did a video like this: th-cam.com/video/l3K99MpJ3Sk/w-d-xo.html -- but for electronics and tools manufacturers in Japan!

**I think the Jack is an Adequate Design**
In my opinion no meter should be Dropped in awkward ways, any meter can play up or be damaged on the off chance.

I'd have to mostly agree with this statement. It is nice to have the added assurance that a piece of test equipment will survive a fall undamaged, but it IS test equipment. It is delicate and sensitive and due to these inherent characteristics, one should handle such equipment with great care. I handle all my test equipment as if it were fragile glass and it would be an incredibly rare case to lend any of it out. I realize though that real life work environments are not always as forgiving, things happen, often times unnecessarily.
