Mushroom hunting on Vancouver Island

When I was a child I used to pick up mushrooms with my father and grandfather all the time. My friend offered me to join experienced mushroom hunters and spend Thanksgiving in a magical Taku resort on Quadra Island ( takuresort.com/ ).
We took two ferries: a ferry from West Vancouver Horseshoe bay to Nanaimo; and ferry from Campbell River to Quadra Island. The road was very picturesque.
October 2022 in Vancouver was unusually sunny and dry, that is why we did not find a lot of mushrooms. But unforgettable hiking, swimming with seals, oysters and mussels picking is guaranteed all year around.
My friends are amazing cooks, so gourmet meals were provide.
So happy I was able to explore that magical island. Will definitely come back!
