I think the Old Republic game did a great job in highlighting the difference in power and politics between *a* Republic and *an* Empire. While an Empire can be less stable and much easier to dismantle then a Republic it can act more swiftly and issue orders more effectively when the power structure is stable. This is because in a democratic system decisions are taken based on a majority vote and if people don't make up their minds fast enough then that will result in a lot of missed opportunities, not to mention since the parties of a republic are not obligated to obey or partake in the council's motion. In an Empire, there is one leader and one governing body and all other members are forced to obey orders of superiors under martial law so because of this they can act more swiftly and efficiently since there is not much room to debate or argue when the Emperor and his council issues the orders.
@@georgerodger2104 If you’re writing about the Galactic empire then yes , it is a monarchy . Emperor Palpatine was a monarch. The old Sith empire was also a monarchy because it was ruled by an emperor .
Imagine how cool it would be to play as a Trooper of the Resurgent Sith Empire crashing into Jedi Temple alongside other troopers and Sith with Malgus leading the charge?
So ultimately... What I take away from this is that the Republic is weak, prone to infighting and corruption while the Sith always come back stronger every time
If the sith are united like they were during the great galactic war than yeah they always comeback stronger and wreck the republic but it doesn't happen that often because the sith aren't united most of the time and always make powerplays rather than doing what's best for the empire.
Ironically, infighting and corruption is why this Sith Empire falls. And the next... and the next. Until eventually, the Sith are so weak that they can barely muster a defense against the Jedi.
meh i think the smartest move by the sith was in ep.3 with order 66 the Empire had control over almost all of republic territory in a matter of days while using what was the republics own fleets and elite troopers that had been cloned from mandalorians themselves. I actually wonder if the emperor cloned himself several times to live through the millennia and the old emperor was actually Palpatine himself because in forces of corruption 2 it was proved that force sensitives could be cloned.
This is all sounding weirdly familiar. I'd accuse Disney of plagiarism if there was a chance in hell that anyone involved cared enough to be familiar with any of this.
@MegaBadjosh and if this were true the each single clone would have to defeat the last one in combat to prove that he wasn't faulty and worthy of the throne and considering the fact that each clone could remember the life of his past self i think this was a very possible scenario.
@Mariobaryla thats not hard all it takes to swing a republic senator to your side are dollar $ighn$ and its game over, they worship the all mighty Cred over the Force any day lol, truth be told the Emperor is still a tactical genius of course :P
@Dromiz bioware will get it right...i think sony did swg (or they took it over after it was made i cant remember) and yes it was a huge flop...i have 100% faith this game will kickass
+Contreras1991 They didn't lose shit. The Sith humiliated the Republic during the entirety of the Great Galactic War and ended up controlling 70% of the galaxy with the Republic being forced into the isolated western edge of the galaxy.
Since the Sith could not destroy the Republic and the Jedi, the war ended in ceasefire. Then the Sith turned on each other to make power plays, weakening their empire.
@Heavykani kids love star wars ... the clone wars was a good way to keep the younger kids away from games like this...they get their star wars fix from clone wars...we get ours from swtor =]
@Heavykani mmos have to look like that if not the game will feel choppy...with the "cartoon" chars you get a really nice smooth feel to the game...trust me its better XD
That mirrors what goes on in our world. In world war II the nazi's developed the jet engine, today almost if not all the world uses it. It helps when there is a little bit of real world in that world so we can relate.

I agree the republic continuously plays politics while the enemy moves swiftly and uses the advantages they gain
Slade Wilson Deathstroke that is why monarchy is better than democracy
TechMeister1993 the empire isn’t a monarchy
Order 66

@@Valencetheshireman927 The Old Emperor also Ruled 3 Empires as well
This stuff is fun to watch.
And this same Republic did exactly what the Sith did under Palpatine. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
I agree
The best Timeline so far. The Emperor is tactical genius - to attack the Republic, and to make the Republic attacks itself ;]
There should be a Battlefront version of this game.......
Agree
Imagine how cool it would be to play as a Trooper of the Resurgent Sith Empire crashing into Jedi Temple alongside other troopers and Sith with Malgus leading the charge?
@@MalevolentSpirit234 That was exactly what I was thinking of.
There is a mod for Battlefront 2 (2005) that adds The Old Republic era. Including the Jedi Civil War and SWTOR.
@@-CrimsoN- I know. But an official release would be better.
I would like to see more details on the Sith's troops and spacecraft.
Can't wait for this game to come out!
ok
can we get an update if youre still alive....
Long live the Sith Empire !!
I hope they put a playlist on their channel that has all of these starting from the earliest time to the beginning.
*13 years later* They do! I watch it annually.
2:40 Lol. There is Sly Moore and Mas Amedda! How is this possible?
Reference?
Screw what we learn in school this is the real thing
sun tzu, chapter 11. The Uses of Spies
So ultimately... What I take away from this is that the Republic is weak, prone to infighting and corruption while the Sith always come back stronger every time
Actually, the Sith also struggle with infighting, lots of Sith make power plays against one another, assassinations, etc.
If the sith are united like they were during the great galactic war than yeah they always comeback stronger and wreck the republic but it doesn't happen that often because the sith aren't united most of the time and always make powerplays rather than doing what's best for the empire.
Yet the Jedi win in the end
The sith came back in force failed to win then got stuck in a cold war
Ironically, infighting and corruption is why this Sith Empire falls. And the next... and the next. Until eventually, the Sith are so weak that they can barely muster a defense against the Jedi.
this is the best powerpoint.
I really want to play this game but my stupid mac wont let me so i watch stuff like this instead.
+Van Kins it'll be worth the wait...

All my painstaking and careful plans coming to fruition was so satisfying

some of those sith troopers looked more like battledroids

@DutchslayerX because the work VERY well
Why the sith are lords and Jedi are knights
Because jedi are knights of the jedi order and sith lords came from being lords of sith race
That´s why the Sith are not so foolish and stupid as the Jedi
... but you killed loads of people... including potential Sith...
You must do it if you want to be powerful
+Darth Imperius and you kill between yourselves that's why you loose wars xD
Indeed, such incompetence.

Is this narrerated by lance henrikson?
I know this a late reply but yes
