Hello Tim, i just love your art, yesterday i finished my third painting, it is actually great and that's all cause of you, learning us... thanks a million times.
Great Job. I like how you married the contemporary effects of hard edge shapes and realistic images. This is very original, and I cannot ever recall seeing anything like this before. I have looked at and studied many styles of painting and this is a first for me on this. I like it. It really works. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Tape keeps the lines perfectly straight. Its hard to see all the variations in the trees but they are sectioned off into squares as well, but its more subtle. I use golden paints for the most part. I used to use Atelier, but don't use it quite as much now.
That's absolutely phenomenal. I wish you could be my teacher. I have potential of becoming a great artist (so I've been told) but I'm just alittle afraid to start. I've only done an acrylic painting in high school last year. A Yosemite picture for a friend and she actually got an A haha she was a bad painting her teacher didn't believed it. Anyway, I just need to push myself more till i finally buy some paint, brushes, and a board.

no, explaining this is good! it's just, if he were to do the entire thing in real time i literally wouldn't have the time to watch it...it would take aaages!
I love your work Tim but I found myself wondering if you could have painted most of the landscapes in this series in B&W and glazed colours over the top in the geometric sections.
Maybe you should. Learning from cheap paint is more challenging, but it can teach you the essentials. Although quality acryics are much easier, smoother, slower drying, and have much sharper pigment. If your paintings are lacking lustre, liquidex paints are $10/tube @Michael's plus they often have sales. I don't think it would b a very interesting video. Pretty much the same, just cheap paints mean duller, thinner, and harder to manipulate. Don't cheap out on brushes, good ones are around $1ea
You should make a video using only Craftsmart Paint or any cheap paint and a cheap brush to show peoloe that they can paint any landscape using yet the simplest paints around craft stores....:)
dont even bother with cheap brushes unless you want pieces of brush in your work. Good quality synthetic brushes are about a dollar a piece..or get a set of assorted for like $6.. do not use straw or cheap synthetic brushes, more bristly is good for drybrushing but not fine details. You want a brush that doesn't loose fibres when you tug on it, or you'll end up scraping them out of your painting later.
I would not mind if his videos were 8-10 Minutes long. It's a little bit too fast now. Real time videos were too long and even I would not watch them whole. It were only helpful when he would say in the video when he take another brush and which type it is.
I have always wanted to just stand behind an artist and just watch as they create their art! I love these videos , thanks for sharing :)
