    Just fyi, if you're not going to use an attack or spell and are just moving somewhere during your turn, you can use the "Dash" action to move even further on that turn. For instance, when you were trying to reach the transponder but ran out of movement, instead of just ending your turn, you could press "Dash" and immediately get an additional turn's worth of movement.

    Loving your content. Stay in explorer mode for your first play through, your reactions are priceless and make this old dude smile. I’ve been playing table top DnD since the mid 1970s and pc DnD since the mid 80s… Touch everything, push all the buttons lol. BG3, because of all the choices, classes and races has reportedly thousands of different endings! Please enjoy yourself and keep us entertained…thank you…

    For shadowheart, astarion and your main you should usually avoid using firebolt. For all of them that cantrip comes from your elven heritage, but it therefore uses intelligence as the spell casting ability which is not the top stat for any of you. You can see this in the percentage to hit when you hover over an enemy with those cantrips and compare it with the chance of your cleric or sorcerer cantrips/spells. And if you wear or use an item you are not proficient with, you will be hampered in different ways. This goes for all the characters.

    • @kiki_maliki
      @kiki_maliki  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @ernonikkola oh I didn't know that about the fire bolts I thought they were good 😅 so if I increased the intelligence the fire bolts would be better quality?

    • @ernonikkola1084
      @ernonikkola1084 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@kiki_maliki they would hit more often, but increasing your intelligence would only benefit that one cantrip and maybe some dialogue rolls, so it's not really worth it, when you could increase you main stat instead and make all your other spells hit better. For your main that would be charisma (also highly beneficial in almost all conversations), wisdom for shadowheart and dexterity for astarion. Gale as a wizard is the only origin that uses intelligence as their main spellcasting stat.

    As a sorceror, be aware of elemental interactions. Enemies that have the Wet condition are vunerable to lightning and cold damage, which means they take double damage (but are resistant to fire). There are spells in game like Create Water and water bottles you can find. Experiment, there is so much hidden in this game including neat spell interactions like that. Also, sorcerors are awesome you chose a great class! They use charisma for spellcasting which means you can be good at talking and trading as a nice bonus.

    • @kiki_maliki
      @kiki_maliki  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Ohhh I didn't know that! I think I found some water bottles but didn't really know what to do with them. How do I create spells? I'm glad I chose a good class 😊

    • @DunawayCreations
      @DunawayCreations 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Create or Destroy Water is a spell that Druids and Clerics get. All classes have a Throw ability, you can throw items including potions, poisons, water bottles, alchemist fire, etc.
      You can also open inventory and drag items onto the ground (or a button on PS5). Then attacking the bottle will make it burst, and in the case of water bottle will get nearby enemies wet. An area of effect attack spell will also burst the bottle.
      Finally, the worst part of sorceror is that the amount of spells you know at any given time is limited, unlike wizard who can have a thicc spellbook. When you level up, you can unlearn old spells to learn a new one, but if you don't like it you are kinda stuck til next level. For 100 gold you can respec later on though and choose different spells, so don't panic.
      Why sorceror is awesome besides charisma, you get sorcery points and can create even more spell slots (cast more high level spells) or use sorcery points for things like Quickened spell where you can cast another spell in the same turn using bonus action (Double fireball!) Have fun!

    You're doing quite well so far. :)
    Also don't worry, it's completely normal to stare lovingly at your character at regular intervals.
    Some tips I would give:
    - Holding down the left Alt key will reveal most objects that can be interacted with on the map.
    - C will make you go into stealth mode. Shift-C will make the whole group go into stealth mode.
    - For dice rolls, always add any bonuses you can unless it burns limited resources (like potion of Giant's Strength). Shadowheart can cast Guidance at will, which adds a 1-4 to each roll.
    You would be surprised how often that little bonus will change a roll from a failure to a success. :)
    - Don't be afraid to pick up everything that's not nailed down. If you right click on it in your inventory you can send it to your camp so it doesn't take up weight for your character.
    Since you're on PC, you can also ctrl-click and shift-click to select multiple items at once and send them to camp.
    - Armor and weapon proficiencies matter a lot. Wearing armor you're not proficient with will block you from being able to cast spells.
    Equipping a weapon you are not proficient with will let you attack with it, but you loose out on all the special attacks proficiency gives you.
    - The utility buttons are important! Dash, Jump, Disengage, Help, Throw, Shove etc are incredibly useful.
    Dash - Use your action to double your movement. (Rogues get it as a bonus action at level 2.)
    Jump - Exactly what is says. It will let you reach places that you can't just walk to. In combat, using jump requires 3m of available movement to use. (Based on strength. More strength = the further you can jump.)
    Disengage - An action that allows you to move away from melee range without the enemies getting a free attack on you. (Rogues gets this as a bonus action at level 2.)
    Help - If you are out of potions and healing spells, Help will allow you to bring back an unconscious character to 1hp.
    Throw - You can throw something at buttons and levels to activate them. You can also throw healing potions at your party members and allies.
    Shove - Is the enemy standing near the edge of a cliff or the edge of a roof? Give them a shove! :D (Based on strength. More strength = better at shoving/resisting being shoved.)
    - As a sorcerer, your spellcasting modifier is based on Charisma. More charisma = better chance to hit with spells.
    (Except the high elf racial spell Firebolt. That is based on Intelligence. Same for Shadowheart (half high elf). That's why Shadowheart often misses with Firebolt. She's a Wisdom-based caster with fairly low INT.)
    - Ranged attacks, spells and mundane, will be at a disadvantage if you attack an enemy that is too close.
    - Moving another character into melee range with an enemy will give your rogue (Astarion) advantage so he can use his Sneak Attack.
    Successfully hiding will also give him advantage on attacks.
    - Short rests will heal you and replenish some resources. Long rests require food, but will fully heal you and replenish all your resources.

    I really enjoyed your playthrough! I resonated immediately with peacefulness, tea, and picking a White Draconic Sorcerer :D People are giving some great tips, I hope I can also be helpful with my two suggestions.
    This game is about exploration (the developers themselves encourage this and discourage making a beeline for quest markers), so while scouting ahead with the camera makes sense, I would recommend snapping back to your character to travel forward rather than clicking some distant point and waiting for her to come to you for two reasons. One is that sometimes hidden things are spotted along the way and the other is getting more depth to your companions as they chatter. Both of these occur as text over their heads and voice lines, but you won't know it happened if you're up ahead. I hope that makes sense!
    It looks like you've disabled Tutorials - as someone also new to this type of game, I found reading all the tips/hints/pop-ups to really help me down the line. The part you've just done would've taught you about Dash, Disengage, Hide, Opportunity Attacks, and more.
    I look forward to watching the second video!

    Wearing armor you're not proficient with is Very Bad (tm). You can't cast spells as a sorcerer and there's other penalties too. Same goes for helmets, boots, etc.
    Other than that... Astarion's rogue abilities are a big stumbling block. Try to figure out how get a Sneak Attack every turn or he's just a peasant with a bow.
    Good luck!

    It is really fun to watch this game through someone's eyes who have had no experience with this type of game, or even D&D. I've been playing D&D for more than 40 years, and all kinds of crpgs. Hard for me not to think in terms of min/max. It is really refreshing to watch someone choose things just because it looks or sounds cool. My only advice is to take your time,explore everything, talk to everyone. Especially the animals...

      This is a trap I've heard quite a few people falling into so I hope this helps: the game is way too big and involved for you to experience everything, and that's okay. My recommendation would be to play it like a story unfolding and not turn it into a laundry list of things to tick off. That being said, thorough is great!@@kiki_maliki

    1:03:08. I do suggest checking every letter and journal you find (at its place), as they occasionally unlock objectives and explain scenery stuff. General reference books are less important (I.e. The Sword Coast Vol IV.), yet all of them net you 14gp when selling. Same with weapons and armor, they are good money!

    If you would live in the Lord of the Rings world, honestly, you'd love DnD. It's heavily-inspired by Tolkien, and in turn most high fantasy fiction and RPGs are based off of it! Plus BG3's actual mechanics are based off its 5th Edition, so you wouldn't have to learn too many more basics. The games I myself DM are very roleplay-heavy, too, it's a great load of fun.
