The “vaccinated cell” presents the fragment of the spike protein encoded by the mRNA...on its cell surface - triggering other components of our immune system to make antibodies that bind to this “epitope” .
It represents the shape of the protein. It's trying to fool you into an understanding of it's shape and chemical structure. Light has a minimum size, and to photograph a protein in the way you want is simply not possible.

A spike protein is just a virus vector into the cell.
It doesn’t do anything itself, it delivers genetic material from the virus to the cell.
Correct!!! That’s why mutations are of concern because existing antibodies might not be able to bind with a differently-shaped spike.
