I was cruising TH-cam and remembered that we lost Guy Clark some two years ago.and it brought me back to 1972 when I saw Steve Fromholz and Guy Clark together out in Colorado.such a long time ago. The effect that he, Jerry Jeff, John Prine and so many others have had on my musical soul is so appreciated.

I traveled with Rusty Wier for years and got to be around him and Fromholtz and Jerry Jeff and Billy Jo Shaver and so many of the Texas singer song writers. I miss them all. Never be another Guy Clark. Im Alva (A. D.) Jackson not Janice. I dont know how that happened

I cant believe I just fully discovered him having been in on Jerry Jeff, John Prine, etc in the early 70s. Most of the songs like this came through Jerry Jeff. I have to say, Guy's version is just as good if not better
Blindlight.org I’d say it’s better, mainly bc Guy Clark wrote it. The songwriter is always gonna do the best version of a song.
@@JoshMorningstar Not always...Jimi Hendrix 's cover of Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower is so good Dylan actually performs it Hendrix style. Also Mad World by Tears for Fear cover by Gary Jules is widely regarded as better than the original. Even Tears for Fear thinks its better than the original.
Guy Clark is the greatest story teller of all time.
Defo up there for me too... People Love Towns, me included but Guy tells a mean story.
This song says a lot about just how good Guy Clark was as a songwriter. Let alone as a performer. This live concert in Austin has some of the best of his stuff you will ever see.

I got to see Guy Clark in a small club in Greenville South Carolina in 1980 he was awesome. He wouldn’t interact with anyone but I was good friends with the club owner & he got Guy to autograph one of his headshots for me.
This reminds me so much of my own experience with my grandpa uncles and father so much
mike lewis me too. I was my dad’s caregiver. He had Parkinson’s Disease, but his mind was sharp until the end. My grandfather was the son of a pioneer born in the 1880s

Moon & Texas 42. Best games you can play sittin at the table. Played many a game with some good ole boys in Palestine Texas back in better times. We used to drink beer and play all day long after working all night and listen to Guy, Townes, Jerry Jeff, Bob Wills n Johnny Gimble, etc. Great memories. ❤️✌🏻🎸
