(By the way, I should mention how for the last few months I have been wishing to study Bach’s chorales more deeply (since I, as a beginner composer, desire to learn more about the art of arranging a tune into a new work). However, as I listened to some of Bach’s chorales I failed to recognize some of the original chorale tunes in their new arranged versions-and this frustrated me greatly. But now, all I have to do is open this video and find both the original chorale melody, as well as the arrangement on which is based. This is fantastic!)

Wow. Great job. Thanks for this. The staggering thing is that for each of these Chorales, being themselves reharmonizations of Bach's from previous works, are each used as the basis of whole (usually) 30 minute works called Cantatas where their elements recur.

These works are magic. I have loved them for nearly 60 years, and played some of them too. This is a superb post. I greatly admire most of the performances. In O Mensch Bewein the feeling comes across clearly, and he doesn't milk the chord (readers will know which chord) but plays it perfectly. Thank you.
