Thank you, I think you answered the question I had going in....I have time to do a 5 day road trip out of Munich in early December to get my fill of good alpine scenery. I was thinking of splitting time between Garmisch and Berchtesgaden but I reckon I'll just spend the 5 days in the Berchtesgaden area. Thanks again, you guys are my go to for all things Germany travel.
:D Theoretically, you would probably have time to do both in five days, but I don't like rushing on vacation. You'll have plenty of time to do everything, and then some with five days in Berchtesgaden. The mountains are also prettier there. :D
Stunning scenery from start to finish. Winter is definitely my favorite season for hiking - fewer crowds, snow frosted trees and unique challenges along the trails navigating through snow and ice. Thanks for sharing this beauty!
Couldn't agree more! Also, I love your content btw. I imagine you guys would have been able to absolutely crush some of the harder trails in the area, and no doubt gotten some amazing footage.
Thank you very much for this great Video. I love the Berchtesgadener Alps. I am trying to be once in a year there. But there is so much more to see. You have to go again to this area.
If I remember correctly, it was January or February. It is usually very snowy around this time. Unfortunately, due to global warming, it is getting harding to confirm snow levels in winter. Last year we had basically no snow in the Alps. :,/
It would have likely felt like a longer and more satisfying experience had you been able to stop and have food and beer during the hike, making the hike length more appropriate.
Beautiful vlog with great shots 👍👍👍. With us we would have a little more of winter😄 We're happy to give it a thumbs up! If you like, come and visit us sometime! Have a great day and happy new year Up'n'Down-Traveling

Thank you for sharing! I’m planning an extremely short trip to Munich and this is a day trip I’ll definitely go for :)

thank you so much for this lovely video!
you're welcome! :D
What month is this last year? Is there a snow during mid of December?
It was in February. I’m not sure if there is snow mid December. There might be, but the snow really pops off starting in January
which month was this? is it this snowy in february?

At 8:05 you said, “… it’s completely frozen over and it’s just December 27th.”
Is there sharenow in Berchtesgaden ?
I do not think so. We rented one from Munich, and drove to and from Berchtesgaden.

As is the German tradition 😅 Unfortunately everything was closed due to Corona restrictions.
@@NearFromHome hopefully when I move there in 2024-ish, we might be through the current pandemic… just in time for the next.
