We were running to Catalina Island from san diego when we encountered heavy seas, we had several boats in our group, two 470 (zeus) sun dancers, two 441 (one w/ zeus one with v-drives) meridians, one 480 sundancer (v-drives), my 340 (v-drives) and a 330 with axis stern drives. We had to slow to about 15 knots and the 330 could not stay on plane. everyone else stayed on plane, the engines in the 330 are so far aft that it could not plane at a slower speed and had to plow the whole way totheisland
@DShinskey yours goes faster because it is stern drives. mine is v-drives their better in the ocean but not quite as fast you should check out some of my other boat videos
@jetguy1205 It's a 2005. I bought it new, all custom ( picked out all my colors, etc. ). I paid $240,000. Has every option except the overpriced 15k generator. LOL.
@DShinskey haha you payed way to much never buy anything new{boat,house,car} mine was $150000 it has every option plus custom canvas and a dinghy did you buy yours with marinemax?
@jetguy1205 No. I did not. Though my buddy with a new 38 Dancer did. Says they're good. Nah. I didn't pay too much. It ain't a Bayliner. It's quality work.
@jetguy1205 Yikes. With my 300 sundancer, with twin 5.0 300hp a piece, I can get it to 55 with the right conditions.....and hell of a lot less gas then the 8.1......and it's still 25gph wide open per motor.
Start getting over 32 foot, its best to use a diesel engines, cause there going to start drinking gasoline and speed is out of the question and will take power of a diesel engine to propel larger yachts. My little 28 footer with a 350 V 8 does me well, run at 58 knots which is 67mph all day on claim water and holds 100 gallons of gasoline No 1400 gallons hehehe
Great video production .. .. no disturbing background effect music; just the engine; the boat and the water!
I have a 2010 Sea Ray 330 and I personally love it, and will keep up with a lot of boats.

I really like that 340. How much HP were you running. Giving me an idea...
@DShinskey quality work it is.
they are very nice boats do you use it in the ocean or lakes. joysticks are great is yours a stern drive
@DShinskey counter rotating props!
@DShinskey around $150000 ish
how about you, what year is yours?
@jetguy1205 The question is........how much left do you have to pay?
@jetguy1205 How much did you pay for this boat?
I don't know how fast they were going, and yeah the twin 496's they don't rev that high but at full throttle I am burning 63 gallons an hour
I have my boat on a lake so I don't have to worry about that, if I had it in the ocean I would get a bigger boat for sure.
