    Best. Tell Them.. Forcibly. We have been too nice about things recently and now the people are are getting complacent. Righteous indignation. The Lord chastises his people for their own good. Love this man Elder Holland, so sincere and heartfelt.

    Thank you Elder Holland!!!!!! I am a 74 year old golf professional , a graduate of UNC school of pharmacy and a 53 year member of the church. My wife and I have never “checked our religion at the door”. Our relationship with the Savior always comes first. It guides in our relationship with all others we encounter. Recently in a round of golf with friends who are not of our faith, one of the golfers in our group became frustrated as occasionally all golfers do. It resulted in an outburst that included taking God’s name in vain. I approached him quietly and told him that his actions would not be tolerated in my presence. He gave me a strange look. I stood firmly planted just a few feet from him. After a couple of deep breaths and assessing the 6 foot 2, 230 pound man in his face he humbly apologized and promised to not ever do that around me again. The remarkable addendum to this story is that before the end of the round both the other players in our foursome quietly approached me and thanked me for my stand for the Savior. You are so right. We can never lay aside our commitment to the Savior no matter what situation we find ourself facing. LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

    Love this talk! There was a brethren who left religion at the door and became aggressive BBall player and filled with anger he wanted to beat up a young YSA guy because he was so good and in their way, because he check his religion at the door, the game was over to calm him down from strangling a YSA kid who was very good.... He later became our Bishop and what a changed man he is after 5 years of serving as Bishop!!! He learnt to Never check his religion at the door but to live it on court outside of court!

    I remembered his remarks but I didn't remember the wonderful faces/expressions at 3:13 and 3:20. Imagine those faces on Elder Holland as a future prophet, should be love so long. I would love to have a prophet giving us those gentle looks to remind us that we ought to be very careful about what we are thinking and saying and doing...and love to have a prophet who would then turn right around and give the emphaticism of his next sentence. The world would benefit greatly from some prophetic parenting like this.

    He just described what I call Utah Mormons.
    I'm from California and I have lived in other states.. but .. something about ALOT of The LDS members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints that live in Utah .. they check their religion at the door.. and it turns people off from hearing the gospel. It is eye opening for people who move here from other states.. and they act like they aren't true Christians in every day life.
    They need a wake up call. People are watching and learning, and we need to be true Christians ALL of the time.. not just some of the time.

      I have spoken to NBA fans from Golden State, the Lakers, Sonics, and Blazers. They will tell you that the rudest fans in the NBA are in Utah...Jazz fans. To me its always been very sad that this is the case.

    • @tylerahlstrom4553
      @tylerahlstrom4553 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sorry, but your comment is exhibiting a lot of the same derision you are trying to speak against. To label and stereotype all “Utah Mormons” as less than is not true or very charitable. As a Latter-day Saint who has lived both in and outside Utah, I can say you can find both honest and sincere members and casual members everywhere. Hypocrisy is more readily apparent in Utah because everyone assumes everyone in Utah should be good members so when there is a deficiency it is more readily apparent. Problems within the Church are therefor magnified which skews our perception. Thanks to everyone striving to truly live your religion wherever you live.

    • @Terminatorguy34
      @Terminatorguy34 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have heard many times that "Utah Mormons" aren't exactly the best examples of our faith, I've heard if you want to see stalwart members then you need to go to Vegas, some of the strongest members live there.

    “Preferably around his throat.” Lol, that is so relatable. But, seriously, also in politics, we tend to check our religion at the door. For instance, how can some members claim that the democratic party is more aligned with the gospel when democrats uphold abortion, socialism, blotting out of the Christ’s name from public settings, etc.? These members easily overlook these things the brethren preached against when it comes to politics.
