I hope that you'll add some information on engine break-in after rebuild (with new rings, bearings etc) in one of these seasons episodes. Quite important topic that a lot of people are misinformed about and aren't also paying any attention to it. Oil choosing, oil changing intervals while breaking in the engine etc. Cheers!
Armands B I will talk something about engine break-in. But I'm afraid that the methods we normally use for these high hp. tuned bmw engines here in Finland aren't considered as good practises. Basically it goes like: put some cheap oil to the engine for first heat cycles and then change proper oil + filter and tune the engine. Then again oil change and you can drive like you stole it :D
I had to borrow a length of pipe for my 4g63t crank nut and JUMP on it, it was hilarious. Then I somehow lost the connecting rod nuts which were M9x1.25 something stupid which was imposible to buy so I had to buy a tool to rethread m8x1.25 it was a nightmare. Ofcourse I found them when completed when sweeping. Mechanic 101

Ole nb Putting m50 to e30 is really easy task. You can also turbo the m20 and get lot of power from it. But with m50 you will get lot more reliable engine.

The reason may be the price. You can get m50/m52 engine for couple of hundred USD/EUR but the m54b30 costs several thousands. And also people may be afraid of the dual vanos etc. with aftermarket ECU. I would definitely turbo m54b30 engine if I had money for that.
I have an e46 m54 but the 325i would it be smart to turbo the engine or should I go for an m54b30. Also tought about an m62 swap or supercharge my engine but I really dont know -.-

Yes it can run with normal pump gas. No problem. With stock pistons it's bit risky, because those can't handle knock/detonation at all or those will crack. So the tune has to be spot on. But the forged pistons can handle it much better so with those the risk of breaking the engine is much smaller.

Paulo Peralta Those have at least worked in my friends car. The rods were weighted between 0,5 gram from factory and bearing clearances were spot on. So very good quality for the Price.
Those at least look like normal Chinese H-beam connecting rod stuff. And most of those are quite good quality for the price. Of course they aren't as strong as real brand rods. But normally that only makes difference in +1000hp engines.

Yes it is. m52 and m50tu heads are basically identical. Valvetrain is different, but you can use m50tu one no problems or swap the m52 one.

It's engine girdle to strengthen the main caps. For our power goals that's not needed but that was so cheap in eBay that we use it anyway :D

Let´s see you have prism what you have to say about prism rods? Eagle rods with 135mm is not easy to find in stock at FCP
