It looks like Thomas is really focusing on producing very high quality products that sound great at very reasonable prices. That is fantastic! Good for Thomas!
I’m still listening to the Voyager TL. This morning I hooked up the Burson Voyager which is their flagship head amp. It happens to also have a remarkable preamp (bests the pre of the Forte Axxess and a Pass Labs XP10 I have). The TS A 75 amp is the best mate I have here for the speakers. With this amp there is actually some slight 3D action happening with remarkable warmth. Lovely. With the Brunoco tubes it’s warmer still. But wow this Burson is amazing as a speaker pre. Even has a sub out. I’ll review the TS A75 soon. Giant killer? Well, depends on the giant. With that said it’s a $1500 power amp that really hangs with some much more expensive amps I have had here. More soon.
That was a joy to watch Steve. I have to say, your home also looks like such a zen space to live. I have had these speakers for a while as well, I agree with EVERYTHING you said. cheers sir. love your videos.
Thank you! It is why we moved here 3 1/2 years ago. It's total zen, peace, quiet, serenity. Wildlife every day .... only thing is the winters are not so hot. Cold, gets dark at 4 o'clock, etc. Spring, summer and fall though. wonderful. Keeps me centered for sure. I am happy you are enjoying these as well!
James currently has these speakers, the galion ts120 and his SS amp too. James brought over the galion last night. Thomas has made some smart decisions with the products he is choosing to put on the market.
I just went through this with a pair of expensive speakers. tried every trick in the book to get them to sound right. Back to the special 40s. Sounds like a good match with something like an Atoll or Belles integrated amp.
Sometimes pricey speakers can be a disappointment. They focus more on the details, transparency, etc. These focus on the music. The special 40's are AWESOME! Keep enjoying them!
I would love to hear the answer for this, as I’m also in the market with these and the Denton 85 or Linton on my short list. I always lean towards small market equipment, with an eye on avoiding being too niche. On the other hand, I’m willing to spend a few extra bucks if the niche product is far and away a better performer.
It's not that bad - The 2023's came with a Sub (this is not the L:UX package B&O) so 10 speakers here. Better than my last Jeep that had the Alpine package. I do not do any kind of critical listening in the car so I am 100% good with what is there. NOW...if this were a 2022 I would have not even bought the truck. Same as the 2024 Jeep Wrangler stock system which is awful. The sub helps just enough.
@@HiFiHuff I have a 2022 2dr and I bought it specifically without the lux package because I knew I couldn't live with it and I'd have to upgrade. Thx for the response.
Thanks! Mine (at 1800 miles) developed a slight balance issue. Wheel vibrates between 50-65 - Taking it in next week. Other than that I enjoy it. @@bc5299
Wonderfully. The Galion TS120 is a fantastic tube amp with some sparkle up top. That sparkle helps to open these up more, much like the Brunoco does. I think these sound great with tubes and my fave combo is with tubes. So I'd say these would sound great with the TS120. With that said, I do not have a TS120 here but remember it well. Also, I am sure Thomas tested it with his amp. Should be a natural match. These are rated to 50 watts.
I don’t broadcast where we live due to a stalker issue I had 6 years ago. We were in the 70s for 5/6 days in mid Feb. usually it’s around 5 in mid Feb.
Good review Steve. Do you think they would benefit by the addition of a subwoofer? Perhaps the REL T7? I have the little brother Galion TS Voyager desktop speakers. Very musical and non fatiguing. They are meant for close range listening (placed on my work desk at home so they are 3 to 4 feet from my ears). I listen to them at low to mid volume so not a big benefit to add a subwoofer, but I did, a small REL subwoofer (T Zero MKIII) to get the lower frequencies, 50 to 80 Hz. Though musical and satisfying without a subwoofer, the addition of a small sub completed the musical experience (REL T Zero MKIII). Not a floor shaking sub, but fits the application.
Yes for sure. Listening to it now with the Burson voyager as the preamp. Quite remarkable with the Voyager speakers. Opens them up even more yet they remain warm and meaty. But I’ll have a review of the amp in the next 2 weeks. Have to listen with other speakers still.
They are the earth cables from Kinki Studio. BTW, I love the cables. They are quite a lot like those $3k cables we see but cost a fraction of that. Sound is lovely.
Totally different speaker. These are not anything like those. These are a touch subdued, warm, thick, meaty and have great bass. Daniel Hertz EVA (which are now $7k bookshelf) are way more open, holographic, and have more treble energy with a tighter bass. Different kind of vibe.
Totally different sound. 100% opposite ends of the spectrum. The OGY and BOB units are wide open, transparent, 3D, etc. these are subdued, smooth, warm and great at low volume. The OGY and BOBs are as well but they sound absolutely noting alike. Think of the OGY and BOB as a holographic, clear, transparent wide open sound with fantastic bass. Without the BOB there is almost no bass with the OGY. Maybe a tenth of what the Voyager has. With the BOB they are one of my favorite speakers. Both do wonderful for low volume listening though.

This is not in any way “the best speaker”. Maybe you didn’t watch the video. Never said this was “the best” of anything. The best doesn’t exist. It’s all about personal preference. This speaker is for those who love warm, smooth midrange centric sound. As I said in the review. Those who value airy highs and a wide open sound will hate these speakers. I never say anything is "the best" because we all have different tastes. That's why speakers like this exist. They are different from the wide open, see through clear sound that most higher end speakers offer. With that said, I haven't heard a speaker like this one before. Not for everyone, but some will adore them just because they are so musical. Not for analyzing, but for listening. Thanks.
The opposite of that. Who said they were Holographic? Or end game? These are warm, smooth speakers that sound different from most speakers on the market. As I state clearly in the video (you should watch it) these are not about transparency, holographic imaging, etc. These are $1200 and well worth it as they are supremely musical. If you like that vibe, these are worth a look. I posted a sound demo just now and there three more in the members area with acoustic, rock, and heavy metal. I hear few Hologtrahic 3D pieces but when they come in, I always mention that. 1/3 of the gear I get goes back without a review. Why would I review gear I dislike? Not worth my time. In regards to these they are killer for the Money. I cant think of any other $1200 speaker I would prefer. Have a great day ; )
Blame what on the preamp? There is no matching pre. It be tested this amp with three preamps now. Best sounding for me by far is the Burson Voyager which is class A head amp and pre.
