Dealing with inflammatory conditions with the flares and remissions can be exhausting in itself. Fingers crossed, you get some noticeable improvement soon. The kids grow so fast. Enjoy the interruptions while they are still home.

Last summer we had a heat index of 106 and that was brutal. My heart goes out to you. There was nothing I could do except sit in front of a fan during the hot part of the day. Try to stay cool - heat is dangerous.
Happy anniversary. I think it’s great you get the videos out in this heat. I lived in the territory for five years and remember the heat and humidity. Exhausting. The only relief is in the water, swimming. I’m on the Yorke peninsula in SA now near the beach and love the sea breeze. It can get hot but that breeze comes in and brings the temp down. It’s nice just to have a catch up from you. Your videos don’t have to be power packed every week. We need time to catch our breathe for your shopping ones. I’m exhausted just watching those. My hair falls out in patches & I have just had a round of steroid injections in my skull.. ouch , however they have worked before 🤞they do this round . The heat will sap every bit of energy that you have. I live in the desert southeast of California and the Temps can reach 118 -120 on any given day and I try to do as little as possible. Due to drought and animals, my gardening days are over. Please grant yourselves a break on these hot days, do the basics only, everything else can wait. Take good care of yourselves.
Happy Anniversary. I have eye issues too. I have an appointment on Tuesday with the Eye specialist. I was getting laser treatment up until April 2023 but had to stop because I started having seizures. My Neurologist said I can go back so hopefully I can continue with no more issues.
I have missed the kids in the pool, love hearing the enjoyment they have. Congratulations for your anniversary. My daughter is hearing impaired from chicken pox, the sores went into her ears and the hairs fell off.

I made my own pasta sauce a few months ago after watching you do it, was absolutely delicious and im doing it again today 😁 im also going to have a dig around in my freezers and make something from something (freezer meal) and im sure my future self will thank my past self. Nyssa don’t feel bad about not doing much in the heat. I live inbetween maitland and Newcastle NSW and we have hot day where as well. We don’t air con in our unit and it gets hot. We do have a portable air con we have in the bedroom so we can at least comfortable of a night. I’m sure if you adopt a new furbaby it won’t take long for it to calm down. I’m sure the kids will love it so much. Look at Lamington. You need to reward yourself as well.
For me already this year has been a write off. I've been so so sick and unfortunately had to rely on Mr to shop which is proving to be an expensive venture. Unfortunately it comes down to of mum goes down, the house does. It hasn't let up in temperature either, it's just consistently hot. But yeah my aim is to get through Jan and do another new year. With the light jelly crystals, mix only the water needed to dissolve it and let the jelly cool and mix with 1 cup greek yogurt mix well with fork and put in the fridge to set, it looks like panacota, all flavours are good, great for low fat dessert idea.

I’ve worn glasses most of my adult life. I never considered contacts because I don’t like anything on my eyes..I lived on a farm and we had lots of cats, some friendly, some not so much. They were excellent mousers and ratters, and they pretty much took care of themselves. We provided some food, water and a warm place to stay.
The temp is like under 10c in the UK. Kiara and Arthur are probably having another litter after Stitch has moved out. The girls are loving sleeping and being lazy. The pups are now 8 and half weeks old.

Im not really a morning person, so i look like rubbish first thing in the morning with hair everywhere! 2 coffees later and im more human! 42 degrees... id be in the pool all day! Love your talking about sourdough. I did 2 starters, one with plain flour and one with wholemeal plain flour, i got bubbles with both, but nothing more. No rising etc. I dont know what im doing wrong!
I do hope your health will improve. Medical stuff can be a pain. My Feb apt at hospital has been put back a month. Meanwhile you soldier on with pain and everything else. Son is better with med problem he had. Just in time to get another problem and awaiting a referral to a specialist. We have a ginger tabby. I wanted a ginger and got him at least 7 years ago as a fostered rescue and he was about that old too. They said to me before I went to see him that he’d never be a cat to cuddle and was very stand offish and snarled. I went to see him. They brought him to me and I took him and put him on my lap. He stayed there and let me pet and talk to him. So he was mine, as they said he’s never stayed on anyone’s lap. He insists on his cuddles when I sit down and also snuggles into my arm when I’m in bed regardless of how hot it gets. He’s a champagne ginger tabby. Mind you it took forever for our other cat to accept him. She tolerates his presence only even now. I gave up on my veggies growing this year due to the weather. I haven’t even got parsley that I can use. The chocolate I like at Woolies went from $2.75 to $5.50 and I never bought any. Now it is permanently down to $3.25 I think it was. It only takes a few grocery items to amount to being a pricy expense. Buggar not getting the hamper in Jan. I can’t work in the heat and I can’t when it is really low temperatures either lol. Meant to be in the 40’s tomorrow so need to do some baking and cooking today. Do you have any problems with foxes there? I found indicators of a fox having burrowed in under the fence, so I am on high alert around the parameters of the property now. Maybe it was a dog.
I’m jealous, My starter died, it was in the fridge, I fed it and it did rise, but didn’t get around to making anything and it just sat on the counter for about 5 days, i discarded some, their was no life, but I fed it and was a no go. It’s winter here and my kitchen isn’t the warmest so I’m going to have to wait to start over when it gets warmer..

The heat is brutal...we are getting 43 on monday...yuckety yuck! We dont get the humidity very much where we are(broken hill)...i dont know how you get through a very humid and hot day. Hopefully you will get some rain to cool things down❤

We went out to lunch because today is my husband birthday. I had roast lamb and vegetables, mint sauce. The roast potato and pumpkin were under the lamb and covered in gravy. The mixed vege were not cooked. Couldn't believe that and they never had any desserts except for carrot cake. Anyway we enjoyed the meal and I doubled my money on the pokies. Not a habit I could get into weekly. Take the money and run.

When I saw you go from the gummies to the boxes of jelly/gelatin, what we call jello in the US. It made me think of jello jigglers which would be fun for the kids and maybe a cheaper alternative to gummies? It's also a good fruity alternative when your running low on fruit or on a keto type of diet.
I normally make them jelly from fruit puree/juice! hehe, and they do love it, Its not often I buy packaged jelly crystals but I saw those limited edition sour flavours and thought the kids might like them hehe :D
@OurSmallFootprint Jello jigglers use half the water and you can cut them into shapes and eat them with your fingers. It's a kid favorite here. I'm sure your homemade version is wonderful.

Hey Nyssa!! I was wondering is rain catchment an option for you? I would think it's cheaper to put together at least for garden and animal water? Catch off the solar panels, kitchen roof, the back patio your putting in?
We already catch as much as we can with the roofing that we have :). The main building roof goes to our main 22,500L tank and we have a small stock tank off another roof that is 900L, then an IBC and a 1,300L tank off the back of the house off the back half of the roof, we haven't put a gutter on the new structure as yet, we've been slack, but we also don't have a spare tank, but we will get there! Unfortunately, we just do not get enough rain to keep the tanks full not with also using water for 8 people :D. We cart water in by the 1,000L but again, that's not a whole lot of water in the scope of things :D
@OurSmallFootprint wow! That's awesome you have that set up already. I can't imagine our family goes through water at an unbelievable rate and it's just 6 of us. Are you able to dig wells where you are? I'm sure if you are able it's ridiculous expensive as it is here. But I'm wondering if you could get some government funding to pay for it as some states and counties here have grants/funding you don't have to pay back to dig a well.

@OurSmallFootprint ahh ok for some reason I thought bore meant a huge holding tank of sorts. It would be awesome if they had funding to help you get that done. Like over here if you can't get grants sometimes the county or state has something called a PACE lien that goes on the property to pay for it and then you pay monthly like mortgage or it gets paid when you sell or want to transfer ownership
We have roof catchment, every available surface has guttering and tanks etc, but we don't get a lot of rain, and we are also 8 people :). We do need to get another tank for off the new extension buildings, it isn't going anywhere atm.
She's doing good, she snuggles with the dogs hehe, and is eating her way through the overgrown yard, waits at the gate at dinner time for her pellets while the dogs wait for their bickies hehe, and tries to shove her way onto the patio every time you open the gate :D
@@worldtravelgirl22 I think it’s very diff if you suddenly go blind, but I learned to drive with it already impaired, I’ve been mostly blind in it since I was 10ish, the treatment required to get the virus under control was extensive amounts of steroids, so they scarred up the cornea within the first couple of years of me contracting it.
Hi Nyssa, you keep mentioning a water 'ball' or something that cost about 25k, is this a well? Or above ground tank that needs to be filled? Just curious. :) Also you look great in the early morning! Bore, is what we call them, and I assume similar to a well. They dig down till they hit the water table and then put a pump in, then we'd have a tank above it, fill the tank from the bore, and then use that to fill our normal tanks :)

I think it is a bit cooler today, 10.30 and 29 degrees, but the humidity is 50% urgh!

@Marie-h1f I tried contacts once, they scratched the inside of my eyelid. It HURT!! That was the last time. I'm not into pain, especially not my eyes.

Im not really a morning person, so i look like rubbish first thing in the morning with hair everywhere! 2 coffees later and im more human! 42 degrees... id be in the pool all day! Love your talking about sourdough. I did 2 starters, one with plain flour and one with wholemeal plain flour, i got bubbles with both, but nothing more. No rising etc. I dont know what im doing wrong!

I do hope your health will improve. Medical stuff can be a pain. My Feb apt at hospital has been put back a month. Meanwhile you soldier on with pain and everything else. Son is better with med problem he had. Just in time to get another problem and awaiting a referral to a specialist. We have a ginger tabby. I wanted a ginger and got him at least 7 years ago as a fostered rescue and he was about that old too. They said to me before I went to see him that he’d never be a cat to cuddle and was very stand offish and snarled. I went to see him. They brought him to me and I took him and put him on my lap. He stayed there and let me pet and talk to him. So he was mine, as they said he’s never stayed on anyone’s lap. He insists on his cuddles when I sit down and also snuggles into my arm when I’m in bed regardless of how hot it gets. He’s a champagne ginger tabby. Mind you it took forever for our other cat to accept him. She tolerates his presence only even now. I gave up on my veggies growing this year due to the weather. I haven’t even got parsley that I can use. The chocolate I like at Woolies went from $2.75 to $5.50 and I never bought any. Now it is permanently down to $3.25 I think it was. It only takes a few grocery items to amount to being a pricy expense. Buggar not getting the hamper in Jan. I can’t work in the heat and I can’t when it is really low temperatures either lol. Meant to be in the 40’s tomorrow so need to do some baking and cooking today. Do you have any problems with foxes there? I found indicators of a fox having burrowed in under the fence, so I am on high alert around the parameters of the property now. Maybe it was a dog.
I’m jealous, My starter died, it was in the fridge, I fed it and it did rise, but didn’t get around to making anything and it just sat on the counter for about 5 days, i discarded some, their was no life, but I fed it and was a no go. It’s winter here and my kitchen isn’t the warmest so I’m going to have to wait to start over when it gets warmer..

The heat is brutal...we are getting 43 on monday...yuckety yuck! We dont get the humidity very much where we are(broken hill)...i dont know how you get through a very humid and hot day. Hopefully you will get some rain to cool things down❤

We went out to lunch because today is my husband birthday. I had roast lamb and vegetables, mint sauce. The roast potato and pumpkin were under the lamb and covered in gravy. The mixed vege were not cooked. Couldn't believe that and they never had any desserts except for carrot cake. Anyway we enjoyed the meal and I doubled my money on the pokies. Not a habit I could get into weekly. Take the money and run.

When I saw you go from the gummies to the boxes of jelly/gelatin, what we call jello in the US. It made me think of jello jigglers which would be fun for the kids and maybe a cheaper alternative to gummies? It's also a good fruity alternative when your running low on fruit or on a keto type of diet.
I normally make them jelly from fruit puree/juice! hehe, and they do love it, Its not often I buy packaged jelly crystals but I saw those limited edition sour flavours and thought the kids might like them hehe :D
@OurSmallFootprint Jello jigglers use half the water and you can cut them into shapes and eat them with your fingers. It's a kid favorite here.

Hey Nyssa!! I was wondering is rain catchment an option for you? I would think it's cheaper to put together at least for garden and animal water? Catch off the solar panels, kitchen roof, the back patio your putting in?
We already catch as much as we can with the roofing that we have :). The main building roof goes to our main 22,500L tank and we have a small stock tank off another roof that is 900L, then an IBC and a 1,300L tank off the back of the house off the back half of the roof, we haven't put a gutter on the new structure as yet, we've been slack, but we also don't have a spare tank, but we will get there!
Unfortunately, we just do not get enough rain to keep the tanks full not with also using water for 8 people :D. We cart water in by the 1,000L but again, that's not a whole lot of water in the scope of things :D
@OurSmallFootprint wow! That's awesome you have that set up already. I can't imagine our family goes through water at an unbelievable rate and it's just 6 of us. Are you able to dig wells where you are? I'm sure if you are able it's ridiculous expensive as it is here. But I'm wondering if you could get some government funding to pay for it as some states and counties here have grants/funding you don't have to pay back to dig a well.
@@Victoria.Stein0201 The bore that I'm referring to at about the 25k is the equivalent of what you guys refer to as Well's I believe! :D We're pretty good with water usage in general, but at the same time, just general water usage adds up :D
@OurSmallFootprint ahh ok for some reason I thought bore meant a huge holding tank of sorts. It would be awesome if they had funding to help you get that done. Like over here if you can't get grants sometimes the county or state has something called a PACE lien that goes on the property to pay for it and then you pay monthly like mortgage or it gets paid when you sell or want to transfer ownership

We have roof catchment, every available surface has guttering and tanks etc, but we don't get a lot of rain, and we are also 8 people :). We do need to get another tank for off the new extension buildings, it isn't going anywhere atm.

She's doing good, she snuggles with the dogs hehe, and is eating her way through the overgrown yard, waits at the gate at dinner time for her pellets while the dogs wait for their bickies hehe, and tries to shove her way onto the patio every time you open the gate :D

@@worldtravelgirl22 I think it’s very diff if you suddenly go blind, but I learned to drive with it already impaired, I’ve been mostly blind in it since I was 10ish, the treatment required to get the virus under control was extensive amounts of steroids, so they scarred up the cornea within the first couple of years of me contracting it.

Bore, is what we call them, and I assume similar to a well. They dig down till they hit the water table and then put a pump in, then we'd have a tank above it, fill the tank from the bore, and then use that to fill our normal tanks :)

I know you are hard on yourself. I am a new subscriber (3 months) and I was watching previous video's and you can see the difference in you weight. I was watching one from a year ago number 426 and you can see the difference in your weight. Also I know you have 6 children but what are their sexes? I know Sonet is a girl and the twins are boys and you see another boy at times. It would be nice to know.
