Great to see this - my PCO licence came through a couple of weeks ago (for London), and I had my Uber onboarding the other day. We're off for our jollies, then I've got my first week on the road when we get back. Big experiment.
@@originalpickaxe Ha, well we'll see. As I said - it's a big experiment. If it works it works. If it doesn't I'll make another plan. Like @ScouserWithADrone, it won't be my only income.
Great video for your first week on uber. I done my coure,,dbs, medical etc and been waiting just on 4 months for a Knowsley badge, my application went in on 4th April, received email Friday I have to do a half hour skills assessment (similar to the taxi vrq) on Thursday and will hopefully get my badge within the week. Have heard Uber gets really quiet during summer holidays as Students have returned home from uni.

Hello mate, been on this game for 30 years now, city badged, on uber for 5 years, as you said, just go with the flow, depends on your mindset, wage to be made , im only part time now, Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday days but still pull a decent wage in, all depends on your outgoings mate, goid luck 👍👍
@@boomer6617 Thanks mate. Not been out much this week as I’ve busy with other things, but not as busy. You just can’t call it! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
Great Video, hope you have Uber Pet turned on, i was once told by a very wise Taxi Driver that its good luck to pick up the odd cat in your car ... I know a lad who refused one and has had nothing but bad luck !
Good video, London a joke mate I applied in May 2024 done my tests July PASSED Oct and still waiting for my Licence. TFL have said they been hacked and there are huge delays but there slow anyway. Worries me how many new drivers are applying here In London weekly over 1k. I worked for uber eats 2018 they paid min 4.30 per job then dropped it too 2.80 I worry PCO heading this way too. London you have too pass English speaking 20mins convo English test and a topographic test 40 percent pass within the 2 chances you get if you don't pass in 2 you have to apply again and paid everything again which comes to around £700 seems like a huge money gab now for PCO Licences.
Done that years ago was good at first then went shite in knowsley the idiots pulling you up every 5 minutes to check if you car is dirty currupt and bent councillors.
Trust me. My husband spent 14 years working as a Hackney Carriage driver in Essex, not for Uber admittedly but a local cab office. Take all of your expenses out, no matter how many hours you work and I’ll guarantee you’ll be lucky to pull in the minimum wage. Get out of it now, if not you’ll regret it.
That's not true. Know loads of alpha drivers getting a decent wage. Just need to work at night your fella probably worked in the day. Drop the dealers off and you'll make money on the taxis
@@Thefamousrfc70 Sorry my friend. He worked from 8 in the morning till 10 / 11pm, normally 6 days per week, sometimes 7. I assume you’re suggesting he was a lazy ‘B’ going by your comments. Maybe you scousers and your fellow Northerners have got it more cushty up there but in a very small concentrated Borough like Castle Point in Essex with 380 registered H/C’s & P/H’s and then in 2019 the removal of any knowledge test whatsoever with loads of drivers running their own books, it doesn’t take a mathematical genius to do do the sums does it.
What car are you in ? How was the process (getting the badge ? Picking the car? Insurance ? Mot ? Ect) What was the start up costs ? How was the earnings you made minus the expenses ? Maybe a tutorial on how to pay yourself via the app also?
@@JTransportAndHaulage So I'm in a Ford Focus Estate at the minute. I am currently settling the car as I wanted to see if I actually like doing the job before I went through the process of getting my own car plated. So under Liverpool City Council I've had to pay for a DBS check, medical, training course, knowledge test and then my actual license fee - all of which cost me roughly £700. Different councils will have different fees, so I can't speak of any others. The whole process from start to finish took eight weeks, but again, different councils make take shorter or longer. Hope this helps 👍
@@ScouserWithADroneproblem is mate, is it sustainable for you to be out that many hours each week? You literally have to give up any free time you have to pay everyone else.
In the long run uber doesn't pay great. Some decent days but not consistent enough. Pays ok if your in a big city and work all the hours you can, especially over the weekend. But be prepared to give up your personal life for it.
Great 👍🏾
