Hey bud, I Just bought a 2001 Valkyrie Interstate and I Love it, took me a minute to get used to it, got to say, after riding my 1100 Shadow ACE, but once I made peace with the shifter and it's limited space, it's absolutely amazing, a small twist of the throttle on the way home after buying it found me at 150 kph, that same twist on the Shadow might have gotten me to 120! and that was uphill with a single wheel trailer in tow! Bike is effortless to drive, after you get over the wow factor of such a big machine, it took a ride on the Shadow after the fact to remind me, I got this and go get 'er done son! Factory pipes right now but I'll keep an eye out for a set of 6 on 6 aftermarkets. Has the Fog lights and the 4 speaker stereo, I've already added a Bluetooth Receiver Plumbed into the AUX input under the right side cover. Tech tip, there's a 3 pin unused connector in there with 12V constant, 12V ACC. and a green ground wire. The unit I installed was p/n IBR 64, pairs with your phone and will stream audio into your aux, but you will need a set of female to female barrel connectors and an RCA to 3.5 mm adapters to make it all work. Going to look for the CB option add on as well. 104,000kms on mine and it runs like new ,I did the nickle on it's side test on the head and started her up and it didn't move. Amazing. So proud to ride it down the road, just saying! Good luck with yours.

Holy Jesus Christ on a motorcycle. I'm not a cruiser guy in any way, but you seem to have a knack for picking the few ones that I do like - first the Magna and now the Valkyrie. Since that's 50% of all the cruisers that I have a fondness towards, I'll take this as a sign that you'll own the other two in the future as well. So best of luck with the Vmax and Rocket once you get there :)
He'd have had a great time on a bike back then I'd say. Me neither most of the time, a few do always catch my eye and this has always been one of them, I oddly don't even mind the chrome on it! Hahahaha I would 100% buy both of those, of any gen, if I could :D
100% the biggest win is the people I have met too. Glad it went to a good home and I know you're going to turn it back into the monster it deserves to be. I've got SO MUCH chrome more for you to put on this bike too that'll be coming in the mail.

From an aesthetic point of view, the second Valkyrie from 10 or so years ago appeals to me more. That one’s a lot more Gold Wing-esque, though. I don’t know all that much about the bikes, so it’ll be fun to see your future videos and get a better sense of what it’s all about!
That's fair, I think that one was the Valkyrie interstate, still a very cool bike but oddly I wouldn't go for that look. Brains eh? Crazy lump of goo. Hopefully I'll be able to do it justice :)

I worked on a few when I worked for Honda. Great bike with out all the b/s the Goldwings were carrying around. The last stripped down GLs was 1982. 1100 flat4. Not even a windshield 👍
Always nice to hear from a professional who worked on a certain bike :) Yes, I'm not a big fan of the huge amount of accoutrements! Yes indeed, I wanted to buy a strip down a 90s model a few years back, glad I got a Valkyrie :)
Love it! Valkyries are awesome! Also VSTROM FOREVER😎(just cause I like them and it’s not popular) also the Valkyrie being cool comes from a Vstrom fan soooo….
you finally showed back up under my notifications. Congrats on the bike. I love the Valkyrie and only have seen a handful in the wild. They're not as cool as a Triumph Rocket 3.
Thanks TH-cam, not sure what I did to offend them but there ya go! Thank you :) They're not from an oomph perspective for sure, but I love how the 6 sounds and they handle better than a rocket by all accounts(obviously that's anecdotal tho as I haven't ridden both)
I'm on my third Valkyrie now, and after experiencing them it's hard to imagine anything coming close at any price, and within their price range there's nothing that can touch them. At least, in my biased opinion! LOL Can't wait to see what all you do to it! I just got my third one not too long ago and am trying to slowly fix her up.
Especially the price they can currently be had for!! It's a lot of bike for the money! Main thing now is get it running, get all the missing parts it might need and start enjoying it, then I have forever to change all the bits I don't like :) Nice!! That's the way to do it :)

Oh 100% The Z900RS is my favourite bike that I own that's in my vicinity right now. I love them all tho. I miss it every day. But it's waiting for me. We will be reunited.
Nice bike! What year is it? Never rode one but I have ridden the Wing version of it. Is a centerstand available for it? All the wings have them. They're so convenient!
It's a 1997, I'd imagine they ride very similarly, from what I've read over the years the Valkyrie is a bit more nimble than a wing. Not sure actually but I must check.
Hopefully it won't be too ;long before I have it back going, just need to solve the gremlins first then will come all the maintenance :) Hahaha I would replace the Z900RS with another one if I didn't ship it :P

A behemoth that comes from a time that defined cruisers for me. It will outlive us all. Certainly cool if you live in the USA with all the boring roads. Love all the shininess! I shall follow its rebirth with avidity. Are you going to get a suitable leather jacket to wear when riding this beast? 👍.
Personally I think it's what most cruisers now are missing, a GL1500 with hot cams and just oddly good looks. And beefy. I don't know why the Japanese few stopped making big beasts like this. It'll be ideal for some of the boring roads here, I might even enjoy them(I won't hold my breath for that). Haha probably not, I've never found one to fit 😂

I have a black '98 with 98,000 miles. Still runs flawlessly. One of the best bikes ever built.

Not really. Good, straight bodywork might be a little tougher to find, but the mechanicals are still not bad.
