This, like so many reality shows, is highly manipulated into displaying these various scenarios for entertainment. Not always true to what the bride has actually ended up doing, but it always gets our attention. It's exasperating at times, but fun to watch if I keep that in mind. By the way, I thought the more expensive dress was ugly and way too fussy on her---the simple one was gorgeous and let her and her wonderful hair be the star.
The only thing this show does at times is present high prices dresses with low budget And low prices with high budget. Her Entourages really loves her “we got you baby” that’s nice of them
he went flying from 1K to 2K on hearing the "permission"!! didnt even try 1.5k first. hearing him pretend like he waits for permission to go over budget is laughable, it is his default...
I didn't understand the permission, he asked Mum, I assumed she was putting in the difference. If she wasn't why ask her and why did Mum say yes. If the bride is paying he asks her, no one else.
Yes the mom did say she would help in the end but the bridesmaids offered to help first I think, it seemed like there was a pause from the mom. Maybe it was edited for drama. It just seemed like the mom was quick to say sure go over your budget but slow to say I will help you pay for the dress you fell in love with..
Love that she actually cared about the budget and didn't manipulate people to get the dress like some other brides. Heart of gold. Her friends and family are amazing and supportive.

I think Gok would have said £1,000 budget is a good budget and had several very lovely dresses for her in that price range. There was one episode, I think, where the bride had about half of that to spend? And he delivered. :-) But then, Gok isn't tied with ball and chain to Christine Dando's designs.

I'm 46, married long time ago, only with witnesses, no family, friends or even party... in my favorite stripy pants (casual, and worn a lot already) - *that* much I don't care about bridal stuff but these things are addictive... for so many reasons. I love seeing people happy, when it's that kind of episode, or myriads of other people's reactions, and personalities... it's good escapism, this is stressful year, after all ...
The dress is beautiful. The headpiece sucks. I love her supportive group even after the bride kept saying she could not afford to go over budget. They were all on one accord and all decided to pitch in. Great group.

Because the one day they wanna wear the kind of dress that is expensive not only to make but produce the fabric for. More bling and puff, more cost for the material and labor. That's why it's so expensive. It's really labor and skill demanding thing to make a dress. And these dresses, or most of them tbh, are all polyester, don't even try to imagine how much would dress with hand made cotton lace and natural fabric would cost, you'd faint. Most people obviously have no idea what labor goes into these gowns and garments in general, thanks to fast fashion... So £1000 might be ok, but not for the kind of the dress she wants, it's unreal unless it's making 5 years old kid in Asia from a plastic scrap...

There's a lot that can go into making a dress. I once made a wedding veil and the cost of the lace trim was so expensive and the time it takes to make can cost a lot. Yes of course you can find cheaper options but those are prolly made overseas and are considered fast fashion. Of course not everyone can afford expensive pieces and there is no judge there 😊 but as a fashion design major, I like to spread awareness about how much backbreaking work goes into sewing and tailoring.
That dress has to be my favorite wedding dress I've ever seen on UK. I've always known that once I get married, I would be a traditional bride, I love lace and ballgowns with sleeves, so seeing her in that dress, looking stunning is a feeling-good moment for me. There's a lot that can go into making a dress. I once made a wedding veil and the cost of the lace trim was so expensive and the time it takes to make can cost a lot. Yes of course you can find cheaper options but those are prolly made overseas and are considered fast fashion. Of course not everyone can afford expensive pieces and there is no judge there 😊 but as a fashion design major, I like to spread awareness about how much backbreaking work goes into sewing and tailoring.
