That yellow Malibu was the exact car my younger brother drove in high school. It was 2 years old when he bought it and it ran forever.♥️👍🏼

Mr. B. Here ! 👏👀😎👍. Very cool ! You are right not many have any love for the Colonnades , I have three ! Two Cutlass S sport coupe and GMC Sprint all 1976 . These vehicles are great over the road cars. The list is long of the good stuff. Most would said am nuts but being a owner since 1976 am happy camper ! Glad that was saved !

As both cars were the Malibu Classic, they were a notch up from the base Malibu which had round headlights and a a different grill. There was also the Laguna which was separate from the Malibu line. When the Laguna was first introduced in '73 it was available as a 2 door or 4 door. From 1974 on it was only a 2 door coupe. I believe the Laguna was discontinued by the 1976 model year.

it blows my mind with how many A bodies were built as to how rare they have become
Big Block transplant & you can have a lot of fun
swivel buckets are super a rare option

Good save Tim your friend has a great start to a cruiser....I haven't seen one of that generation Malibu that solid for years...I always feel bad for Silas when people give him grief about crushing cars but they won't pay a fair price to save them if I was close to your area I'd save what I could...keep up the good work and we'll keep watching...Karl from Canada

Had to look in the back yard to see if the old Malibu was still there. Have one just like the 77 that my dad bought new same color in and out ,same major rust issues. Only difference is mine has a 350 Quadrajet with the 350 turbo

My first car was a 73 Chevelle...
I've looked for one over the years , but they're hard to find & when I do they're beyond repair..
70's cars just got crushed because they had little to be desired..
    I loved my 73' .
    It had a 350 , 4 speed manual .
Bucket seats (swivel) , power windows , cruise & a.c.
It wasnt a muscle car per say , but it ran great .
    I wish I had kept it & a half dozen other cars/trucks I had...
But you dont think about that when you're 16 ..
My favorite car was my 77' Monza Spyder.
    It had a 305 with 4 speed .
It was a blast to drive .
I found one a year ago , called the guy and told him I'd take it .
He would'nt let me wire the money and said the first guy there with the money gets it..
I flew from Tx to Columbus Oh & when I landed I called him .
    It was sold ...
    Frustrating !
But hopefully I'll find one or the other.

A friend at Altus Air Force Base in Oklahoma in 1974 special ordered on of these two doors. Only option was AM radio and factory AC. It had a small V8 that I don't know what size. Pretty cheap sticker price. The dash cracked before the first year was up. Other than that it was always reliable, just sorta lackluster.

Nice save from mr chop it and crush it!! Silas really needs someone's help to find buyers, the more he gets messed around on FB marketplace, the more he wants to crush something!! He finds some cool stuff, but it ends up in the crusher as too many people have offered him like $300 for something, when its worth $600 in scrap!

Perhaps the blue donor car could give up all the blue interior? Including steering wheel dashboard? The yellow car with blue interior would work , terms of looks.

Most of all of GM car/trucks from this time frame had really poor quality sheet metal (supplier?) I had both a “74” Malibu and a C-10 and after 5 years they were complete rust buckets!

Ugly as but I love the fact resurrecting an old V8 anything is probably about a 1000 times more environmentally friendly than producing 1 single brand new electric vehicle.
